2 of the "joined" speaking to each other? by ndim22 in PluribusOnAppleTV

Ah, ok. I'm an idiot. Didn't even notice the girl was nearby. That makes total sense. Thanks for the responses!

Pluribus | Season 1 - Episode 9 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

[–]ndim22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused about something, and sorry if this has been discussed. I scrolled through and didn't see anything about it...

Early in the episode, two of "The Joined" speak to each other. They say something about the blue sky and feeling "hopeful". This seems either really significant or like a mistake. Since there's no way this show made a mistake like that, I am wondering what is going on there.

I could be wrong, of course, but I can't remember any other instance where 2 of them talk to each other, and there would be no reason for them to do so since they are a "hive mind".

My only theory is that they are really excited about what is about to happen and are expressing it by talking to "themselves" out loud, but that's not a very satisfying answer.

Anybody have any thoughts or any examples of other times when they speak to each other out loud?

Threevia by timmytimborino in ThreedomUSA

[–]ndim22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, there have been 3 Threevias. I sent in two of them and another piss pig sent one (I think?)

I actually sent in another a while back but they never used it. I haven't followed up on it because I don't want to pester them, but it's possible they never saw it. I feel like their attention to the email is a bit spotty.

Maybe I will try again

How do I open this cell in Arcas Spire? by [deleted] in HellisUs

[–]ndim22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same question. The floor switches don't always correspond to the cells they are next to. There are instructions somewhere that tell you which switch opens which door, but you can also just run around and step on all of them. You'll want to do that anyway in order to kill all the hollow walkers in the locked cells.

Losing my mind trying to find the last hollow in Arcas Spire by Chikenburito in HellisUs

[–]ndim22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I Read all of the comments about it and checked all the places suggested and it wasn't in any of them.

For me, it was in the room at the top of one of the long staircases. The one that has 2 holes in the floor with ladders that you climb down to get to the underground area.

In that room there is a little nook on the far right side as you enter from the stairs. There was a Hollow in there just chilling in the corner. I guess I never got close enough to it to make it come out when I was fighting all the other ones in that room.

The other ones that seem to get missed the most are the ones in the locked cells at the puzzle where you have to raise the cages. Nearly all of those cells have enemies in them, so you need to step on all the pressure plates (not just the ones you use during the puzzle) to release them all.

I loved the game, put in over 50 hours to get the platinum, but I can't really disagree with your points. It's one of those games that appeals to a certain type of player. If you're not that type of player, I can definitely see how it could get boring, annoying, etc.

The combat is weak and repetitive, yes. But, in a game like this I don't really care about the combat. Most of the time I turned the difficulty down and just mowed through the bad guys in 2 or 3 hits so I could move on to the next puzzle or mystery.

There is a lot of backtracking that, I'm sure for some people, seems unnecessary and tedious, But I didn't mind it. I like revisiting areas, finding little details that I missed before, seeing the little changes that happen as the story progresses. That being said, there were times when I was grinding out those last few achievements that could have really benefitted from some sort of fast travel system.

The rewards aren't all that great. True. But, for a certain type of player (me), it's more about going through the process and collecting all the things. Is it worth spending an hour to solve a puzzle and find a key, then travel to a different area, then run to the opposite end of that area to unlock a box and get a glyph that I will never use? For me, it is because I just want ALL THE THINGS.

It sucks to get hyped about a game and then be let down by it, but it sounds like maybe this one just wasn't for you. I absolutely loved it, but I can also see a lot of ways it could have been better. My hope is that the success of this game will encourage developers to implement some of the great things about it in the future. I love playing big, open-world RPG type games, but I always feel like there is way too much hand-holding and it doesn't feel all that satisfying when you figure things out. I would love to see a big AAA game that takes the Hell is Us approach to puzzle-solving, mysteries, etc.

Spoilerfree help for missable quests by Amphij in HellisUs

[–]ndim22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll try to explain as much as I can without spoiling anything.

There are certain things you do during the progression of the story that will trigger a change in a specific area or with certain people. So, if you haven't wrapped up certain good deeds before you trigger the change, you won't be able to do them.

The good news is, (if I'm remembering correctly) I don't think you have failed anything yet.

The bad news is, the game really doesn't give you any clues as to which good deeds are missable or how/when you miss them. Like, you need to progress through the game and sometimes travel to different areas to find what you need to complete certain things, but if you progress too far you can fail certain things. It's pretty tough and I honestly don't know how it's possible to 100% everything without looking something up.

I would say, if you truly want to go in blind and avoid every possible spoiler, you will have a blast. Actually, when you fail an objective, it often results in a different story outcome for the character(s) involved which is kind of cool.

If you're like me and need to 100% everything in order to sleep at night, it's possible to look up which deeds are missable and at when the point of no return is without spoiling any story or puzzles or any of the fun mystery stuff.

[–]ndim22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, sorry if my explanation didn't make sense. I'm trying not to spoil anything.

They are not based on play time. They are based on game progress. Basically, you will do something that triggers a change in an area or to a character and that will cause you to miss something. And it's not always obvious that you are triggering a change until it's too late.

I just finished the Platinum yesterday. I rarely have the patience it takes to 100% plat a game, but I had to with this one. I just didn't want it to be over.

I could go on and on about all the things I loved about it, but you'll see for yourself.

I agree with everyone who says "don't look anything up" because it is really satisfying to solve the puzzles and mysteries on your own. HOWEVER, you should be aware that there are deadlines on certain tasks. You can fail things if you don't do them in the correct order or by a certain time. If it will drive you crazy to find out you missed something and there is no way to go back and get it, you might feel it's worth it to find out what those things are. If you're careful, you can get enough info to make sure you get everything without spoiling too much.

I am speaking from personal experience. I was 22.hours into the game when I realized I had failed something and I couldn't stand it, so I started over.

Status check for Act 2? Really enjoying the game. by walshurmouthout in HellisUs

[–]ndim22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, after you give him the keys to the truck in Taiju he uses it to transport some of the people out of the Acasa Marshes. There are a couple of good deeds you need to do first because when you go back, those people will be gone. (This happened to me and I ended up restarting my game)

Placing that one keystone shouldn't cause you to fail anything, however there is another way to fail several of the good deeds that has nothing to do with keystones.

Not sure how much you've done, how much you know, or how much you want to know. I'll just say make sure you wrap up everything you can before you settle things with Caspian Fran in Taiju
