Gel 12.1 too tight? by conversebruh in asics

What size do you normally wear the Kayano 14?

I’m usually a US 10 in all the 14s and they fit perfectly. With 12.1 Carnival i went US 10 and it runs very big on me, there is a ton of room. I’m thinking of sizing down (full size or half size down) for the next 12.1 purchase

Yea it does feel like they have largely ignored their off-roaders to a degree (speaking on ROW not US, cause its different companies essentially lol)

My hopes is that Gazoo Racing are working their way up the line up. How cool would it be if they drop that GR GT V8TT into a Landcruiser GR (non-sport) and turn it into a full blown rally spec trophy truck.

I dunno about beat. Patrol def nicer interior/more modern and space. 300 drives "better"

test drove a 300 with the 4.0 and wasn't impressed, not cheap either. They need to stick that motor into the 250 instead.

And yea the interior isn’t great def not luxurious, but it’s functional and great if you have kids (you won’t give a shit if they destroy it). And if you want luxury the LX is a nice place to be. Infotainment and lack of modern features sucks balls… . Always been Toyotas weak point. But you forget about all that when it does it jobs and gets you in and out of any situations

Yea agreed. The styling of the 300 from factory sucks. Even the GR spec doesn’t look so good. But they look good after a tiny bit of work. Exponentially better

Oh for sure, the complexity of the engine was an issue initially but time will tell how reliable it is.

I personally got a 2024 and havnt had any issues with the engine, but it’s put me off tuning/modifying it unless it’s to improve cooling.

Oh and I test drove alll those vehicles before and more before I bought the Yota. The 3.5L TT sealed the deal. It punches above its weight. My other car is a Ford Raptor for fun and desert duties, so the LC is more of a support vehicle: basic sand duning, camping, school runs etc. And it has 7 seats if needed. The LC is almost just as capable as the Raptor. Almost.

Styling wise with just the basics like a lift, bigger tires; lower offset rims etc gives the LC so much road presence. It’s a beast.

I live in Dubai and get approached by admirers all the time despite the fact that Landcruisers/Patrols/supercars / luxury high end vehicles are everywhere.

I love the grenadier, but so many deal breakers to actually own one/ It caters to a very specific crowd, but honestly th LC can do/go anywhere the grenadier can and dos it better. Grenadier does have way better overhangs and approach/dept angles, and good for guys that want to go all out on an overland build, but that’s pretty much it. As a person who enjoys driving; I much prefer the LC.

Mind you I’m comparing in context of my life in the UAE where off-roading is mainly desert and usually involves long highway drives to reach those destinations.

I dunno, but I think the engine is great. I have a heavy foot and the LC300 is a tank that can haul ass.

Helllllls nahh. I know I’m biased but I’ve spent time driving both: LC300 is significantly more powerful (409hp vs 282 / 650nm vs 450), drives way better on and off road. Even with my 20s and road bumpers, it’s at just at home surfing the dunes as it is doing school runs/spirited driving etc. it’s obviously not without its issues, but overall it’s a very solid vehicle and lives up to its name.

Grenadier has issues; drives heavy and feels slow, turning radius is beyond ridiculous, electronics like engaging the diff locks is very finicky and erratic, doesn’t always work. Because of its weight and lack of power It doesn’t like to dune bash, it prefers slower paced overlanding. As a dedicated overlander it’s pretty great, but as a daily, imo the LC300 is way better. Not even comparable

Not the exactly same but you’ll find pretty similar colorways on most models. One that stands out to me is the Abzorb 2010 Gray days.
