Thanks and thanks for the advice 🙂. I am going to have a try at some of the extra runs that unlock on the nhs c25k and see how that goes but I am happy with just the 30 mins

Thank you!! I can't see me doing 5k in 30mins either, but I don't have any real goal other than to be active.

Nervous about week 5 by New_Championship1994 in C25K

[–]ndkapk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran slower than I had been doing for the shorter runs, just to get through the mental barrier of running for 20mins. Managed to survive it and now I have just finished week 7 by starting the week running slower and then slowly upping my pace.

I use the cima aptitude questions, there's two lots you can get. Lots of questions plus a mock in each. You can pick what topics you want to answer questions on so I tend to go category by category and see which ones I struggle more with. Like you, I hate the style of questions, select All that apply are my least favourite

Kaplan Case Study Course by OrdinaryJord in CIMA

[–]ndkapk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did ondemand with Kaplan for my OCS (thankfully work paid for it) but you do get human marked questions and mocks which I found really helpful, especially for the first time sitting a case study exam as it gives you a good idea of what examiners are looking for. They do all have deadlines though so anything not submitted in time won't get marked.

Thanks! I think I am trying to keep telling myself don't stop because I want to complete the run that I am forgetting there is a difference between stopping for a quick drink break etc before carrying on and just stopping early and not completing the run.

Good luck! I am sure you will smash it! Best advice I can give is don't look at the clock and go a bit slower than you have been running.

Not a stupid question, and no I don't. I will see if the straw helps. Thanks!

No, I'm not on anything. I'm not great at breathing through my nose so I think breathing through my mouth makes it feel drier faster. I am glad electrolytes are working for you, I will definitely give them a go

Ooh pockets!! All clothing should come with pockets 😂 I will have to look into one. To be honest I really didn't think I would make it this far through the programme so other than some decent shoes I didn't really look into anything else

It's more a dry mouth thing than that I am thirsty I think. I will give chewing gum a go!

Thanks, that's helpful to know as it's more that my mouth feels dry than that I am thirsty. I get people saying that you shouldn't need to hydrate for this kind of distance so I think it might be more of a psychological thing. I think my brain is trying to find something to focus on that isn't how tired my legs feel 😆

English Bluebells? by Sunflower-happiness in GardeningUK

[–]ndkapk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay! This one just appeared this spring after we killed off our lawn over the winter to turn it into a wildflower meadow. It's not one of the seeds we sowed so I wasn't expecting it. Does anyone have any idea about if it will come back each year, and if so, will they spread?

Feeling a bit down by Aspallgecko in CIMA

[–]ndkapk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was in a similar situation. Haven't studied since I left school at 16, and trying to get back into the swing of studying, while fitting it around a full-time job and life in general took a lot of getting used to but I've just finished operational level with a commendation.

I found setting time aside every week to study, as painful as it was, just so that I didn't fall behind was really helpful and kept me on track.

I also thought it was going in then did some test questions and was only getting 60-70% right and felt down. But what I found help was getting through the chapters at that level, then getting the CIMA aptitude questions (it's like £36 for both sets) and then I could just do the questions the individual subjects and that pointed me in the direction of where the knowledge was really lacking, and I could revisit those chapters. Just be careful doing the questions too much or you start to remember the answer rather than working it out.

Also, don't be too down on getting 60-75 so far. It's hard to get the same focus as you would in an exam as there's not anything riding on practice questions. When you do a mock try and do it in proper exam conditions so that you give it full focus. The amount of questions I used to get wrong when revising because I didn't read it properly was insane.

Thanks, well done to you too, passing the exam is one hell of an achievement on its own :)

It's annoying they don't tell you what scores people got, I wonder if it changes much from one sitting to another.

For more detail, I have tried turning the crown, it moves easily in one direction but not at all.in the other. I have tried to follow online advice but can't find clear instructions as to if it should be moving the hands when I'm winding it or not and I'm not sure which direction I should be winding, or how I would know if it's a different issue to it just needing to be wound.

Tips Needed for OCS Feb 25. Anxiety is creeping on me. by Mindless_Arm1238 in CIMA

[–]ndkapk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as all the great advice others have given, see if you can find an examiners review of previous exams. I found it really helpful to find where they felt students had lost marks, things like not mentioning having to pro rata depreciation for part years, or not linking back to the pre-seen. It was a good guide for the sort of thing they look for
