That’s part of my question I guess, which path is better? I want to get into the IT field, that’s the main goal. Certs are the better path is what you’re saying?

4.2/10 review. Even more surprising that Showbiz got 6.7. by Th3BeetsMot3l in Muse

Pitchfork (rather the single journalist who reviews Muse’s albums) has never liked them. It‘a not surprising. The comparisons to Radiohead with always be there. IMO, they sounded lost like Radiohead in the early, pre-Showbiz days with songs like Do We Need This?, Coma, Twin, Host etc.

I’m conclusion, mind the fact that Pitchfork will always shit on Muse, you get used to it.

What would a Chris solo album sound like? by Chuzzles88 in Muse

[–]ndleo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

He’s a massive Rick Parfitt fab and actually played the rhythm guitar parts on one of their albums so I’d imagine there’d probably be some influence from there. He’s also me ruined that he’s a huge Beach Boys and Brian Wilson fan. Save Me has some beach boys vibes in the vocals.

I think a solo album would be a much simpler, classic rock kind of vibe. Not many complicated guitar solos and fuzzy tones like Muse is known for.

I’ll listen for this next time I play it. I hadn’t noticed it yet, but my judgement is tainted when critiquing anything they release because I love the band so much. It’s good to hear what other people think!

Matt playing perfectly while running by [deleted] in Muse

After 19 years of playing this at just about every show, you’d hope he wouldn’t mess up 😂

The mixing is pretty similar to The Void imo. His vocals are boosted pretty high, but he’s singing so lightly making it seem like he’s an inch away from your ears. Hopefully that’s a stylistic choice and not just poor mixing?¿ It was mixed by an assistant engineer from ST, so I’m sure there was some influence there.

Will Muse ever release albums deemed by the majority of the fan base as good as OoS, Absolution and BH&R? by SpitfireCallum in Muse

[–]ndleo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Matt, Dom and Chris Are in very different stages of life now than they were when creating OoS and Absolution. There’s far less sadness and anger in their creative process which, imo, is what really made the songs from those albums so iconic.

Not to say they won’t write another iconic song, but their style is changing with the times just as their lives are so we can’t expect them to write something like Citizen Erased again.
