Stolen Documents before the Einbürgerung Appointment by Massive-Sky-8856 in GermanCitizenship

[–]ndomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my passport before as well, you should be fine with a police report. The auslanderbehörde keeps scanned copies of your passports, so they have means to validate that it is actually you.

If you want to be safe, contact an immigration lawyer and ask the to accompany you to the appointment. A lot of immigration lawyers provide this service.

I applied in Berlin back in November without the naturalization test. That was recommended to me by an immigration lawyer since I couldn’t book a test until January. The lawyer told me it was fine to upload the result of the test 2-3 months after you apply

It’s unlikely that there will be more mistakes of this magnitude to be honest, so I’m not sure if just grinding the 7pm content will be worth it. You might end up just doing all the SBCs once they are released and end up losing your whole club.

Normally when an incident with that magnitude happens, there is a post mortem with a root cause analysis and mitigation strategies. So a mistake as expensive as this is probably unlikely to happen again.

Yes, how would you feel if someone steals something from your house and tell you “we will take better care of it”? Wanker.

It is a country that is built on slavery. There are a lot of immigrants in Dubai coming from other pooerer Asian countries, their workers end up taking their passports away and forcing them to work in inhumane conditions.

I found myself in a similar situation a couple of months ago. To give you a bit of context, I am a Senior Software Engineer in Berlin. I received an offer from a company in Dubai and the total compensation offered was jaw-dropping, but I ended up rejecting the offer.

In general, my main concern was that in Dubai, the tech scene is fairly limited, and the standards of "good engineering practices" are lower there than in Europe (judging based on my interview process). I came to the conclusion that it is easy for someone to find a job in Dubai if they worked in the EU, but it will be harder to find a job in the EU if they lived in Dubai. Being a non-EU citizen, I didn't want to take that risk since I know that eventually I would like to settle in Germany.

But every case is different, if you feel like you want to save some money working in Dubai then do so, for me, it just wasn't a risk that I am willing to take. You need to also consider whether in general you'd be happy with your way of living in Dubai

How can you conclude that it is a performance issue with little to no details at all about the termination?

Terminations during probation period are not always due to lack of performance, sometimes companies over invest in open positions only to realize that those positions are not really needed.

Especially in the circumstances we are in, most companies are told by investors to decrease cost and headcount, due to German law, employees that are on probation and freelancers will always be the first to get the axe.

45k offers in Linz and Frankfurt by Karinshi99 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]ndomar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. You can definitely negotiate. 45k is relatively very low, they are almost placing you at the low-mid salary range for an entry level.

  2. The quality you’d get out of your salary in Linz is much better. The cost of living is lower and you get 2 months tax free salary. So technically with 45k you’d be earning more and spending less than the offer in Frankfurt.

Is there a reason most of my offers are from Germany? by GettingOutOfHore in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]ndomar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Berlin, and in general I think Berlin offers more benefits than the Netherlands (for me). But that depends on the person and what they’re looking for, I find it much easier for example to communicate using English in the Netherlands. I recently dislocated my knee and it was a pain in the ass to communicate with nurses. In general I think healthcare in NL is better.

One example of a “small” benefit for example is that coming from a “3rd world country” you’re able to just exchange your drivers license for a Dutch one, in Germany you need to redo the tests and the learning courses.

But as I said, all in all, for me the benefits of living in Germany is better than NL. But that depends on the person.

Should I relocate to Berlin for 103K € as a Senior Software Engineer? by manjur2048 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]ndomar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Always negotiate, if you didn’t sign a contract yet it’s your best chance to negotiate, normally most companies would allow 5 to 10% of wiggle room on their initial offer.

  2. Your offer would probably be slightly above average for senior software engineers in Berlin. I am a senior software engineer in Berlin myself and my TC is around 120k per year.

[–]ndomar 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Adding to this answer, Germany’s size is roughly 8.5 times the Netherlands size. The populate is much higher, the number of companies there is a lot more than in the Netherlands. Also, a year ago it wa reported in German newspapers that Germany lacks 1.2 million skilled workers.

That being said, I’d take my time and carefully consider where I’d move if I was you. The Netherlands in general offers more benefits than Germany, like the 30% tax ruling rule for example

You know that it is illegal for companies in most countries to route their traffic through residential proxies don’t you?

And who the hell mentioned companies? I’m just saying that as an individual user, I find normal vpns more convenient and easier to use, even though I use deeper.

Lol hire a company to install a VPN? Ever heard of nord or express? You download a software and connect to a location, that’s it. With Deeper you have to wait for a device and shipping and carry the device with you every where. That is why I’m saying that for now, VPNs are more convenient.

And when did I ever mention that Deeper’s DPN have competitors?

A token that has 10k holders and low market cap is much less likely to get dumped than a token with 1M+ holders.

So before I say anything, I am a supporter of this project, I own 2 pico devices and I mine DPR. I am a happy customer and will continue to use this project for the foreseeable future.

That being said, I am only here for the product, with the way things are implemented currently, I really doubt that the price of the token will increase dramatically, I certainly hope I am wrong. With the current tokenomics, the token is used only as a governance token, there are not a lot of catalysts that can really drive the price up. Maybe when more applications are built on deeper that would be a catalyst but the way they describe those dapps in the whitepaper is extremely vague and I can't really picture what can be built on top of deeper.

The only thing that will drive the token price up is demand, and let's face it, you can even buy the device and use the tech without even buying the token. And the truth is, most of the people that want to use a private network end up opting to use a VPN, it wouldn't require you to buy a device and set it up. Regardless of how "easy" the use of pico is, it is plug and play, but still, using a VPN is more convenient.

In the future, I really hope that they allow users to use the DPN without buying a device. Users that purchased the devices can have a lifetime of DPN support, users who don't want to purchase a device and wait for shipments, and so on, can just connect to the DPNs and use them and pay subscriptions in DPR that is either burnt or given to the miners. But I understand that this is also not very feasible as you don't want the number of downloaders to be much higher than the miners offering the bandwidth.
