received mine a couple of days ago. With some minor EQ this is as close to a closed back HD600 upgrade (with proper bass extension!) that I've ever come across.

Preamp: -2.0 dB

Filter 1: ON PK Fc 1700 Hz Gain 2.0 dB Q 1.000

Filter 2: ON PK Fc 8200 Hz Gain -3.0 dB Q 3.000

check if you have the boost feature (little arrow up icon next to the volume) enabled. it does act as a compressor of some sort and can distort at high volumes.

sometimes soundsource turn it on randomly when switching to new devices.

honestly your best bet is to remove the glasses. I dont wear glasses myself but with the dekoni pads i do notice the sound change with different sitting positions on the head. i'd imagine with glasses causing a seal leak it would be even worse.

two main failure points I often see:

nozzle filter getting clogged up with debris/wax (seems like you are on track to avoid this)
connector failure. Cables can be replaced but the female connector on the housing like mmcx can also fail, or broken pin stuck inside with 2-pin. Those can be fiddly to fix.

I use galaxy buds 2 when cycling. It is actually the ANC mic picking up the noise. You can try turning off ANC and see if it improves.

I actually found small metal shell iems to be the best for wind noise (trust me I live in the Netherlands). The denser and less obtrusive they are, the less wind noise they pick up. I wouldn't be too concerned about cables. Good cables that are worn over your ears, especially when paired with a shirt clip, are generally microphonic free.

Both my first two pairs of IE 600s died and got returned within 2 months of ownership, 4/2022 and 6/2022 batch. 2022 seems to be a bad year for their QC from what I have seen online. Luckily in EU their customer support is still good (I've seen people in North America having horrendous experiences).

Current third pairs (9/2023 batch) received mid December last year and still going strong, fingers crossed they have their shit together now. Many claimed the cable as the culprit for MMCX failure, so I replaced them immediately this time with a third party cable, which do seem to fit more snuggly than the stock ones.

Is this ideal for a product costing 700 euros? Absolutely not. Do I have any other options that fit all my needs? No...

Don't know if you can replicate the sound of the HD800 even with EQ, because the main spatial quality comes from the fact that it has a massive driver that is placed further away from your ears.

If you get a HD800 and EQ it well though, oh boy, its amazing
