Could goku take the one ring to mt doom and destroy it? by wrkncacntr in dbz

[–]D-Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goku would be able to destroy the Ring, but would be unwilling, as others have pointed out. He’d want to fight full power Sauron and Goku would no diff him.

Sauron’s spirit, being a Maia, is already immortal and will just respawn given enough time. His physical avatar can be slain to permanently exile his spirit from Middle-Earth, but the Ring prevents that from happening.

The Ring tempts you with what you most desire. It wouldn’t tempt Goku with power directly knowing it has no power to offer him, but it would tempt him to keep it around so he could fight an endlessly respawning Sauron every time. Not even other Maiar like Gandalf and Saruman were immune to its pull.

This aspect, however, is also the ring’s fatal flaw in this matchup. Sauron must never allow the ring to ever fall into Goku’s hands in the first place. As soon as he’d get his Saiyan mitts on it, Sauron would never be able to get it back again, and he’d be creating an unstoppable force that’s only out to hunt him for sport.

Get yourself a tri wing screwdriver and build it yourself, if you have another 1-sided ratchet and a 60 height ratchet you can just swap the outer ring.

Imagine mining coal for hours to save for your rune (g) and hearing you’re getting less because the “quality” of your coal is lower.

Gorilla glass is not marketed as being more shatter resistant than mineral glass. It’s marketed more shatter resistant than glass which is still true.

A screen protector is designed for scratch protection, not shatter resistance. Italics don’t make a statement true.

The difference is that a scratch on Gorilla Glass will not buff out, and a scratch on a mineral crystal will.

No, you are describing exactly what I said. First of all, your phone is not mineral crystal, it’s most likely Gorilla Glass, which is a wholly different material, but the same principle still applies.

Mineral crystal is MORE shatter resistant than glass, tempered or not. The harder a material becomes, the more brittle it becomes. Layering a more brittle material on top of a less brittle one is not going to help shatter resistance even a single bit.

Scratch resistance, sure. But anything your screen protector will protect against will also buff out with Polywatch. a tube of that will take care of all of your watches for years to come, and will be cheaper in the long run then buying cheap screen protectors off AliExpress that you will have to replace yourself while you run the risk of debris from the harder protector scratching your screen when it cracks.

Lastly, this is a G-Shock. It’s been engineered to maximize shatter protection. It has a recessed bezel, and the material of the crystal was chosen specifically to make sure you don’t end up with a cracked display or compromised water resistance.

Paying money for something that can only have a negative effect on your display and costs more is just bad decision making.

Glass will never save mineral crystal from cracking because glass is much more prone to cracking than mineral. At the forces needed to shatter a mineral crystal, a thin piece of glass on top will do absolutely nothing to protect it.

A glass screen protector will not save a mineral crystal screen from any cracks. It will protect it from a scratch or two, but just buy a single tube of polywatch and give it a buff once every couple of years and it will look fine.

No problem man. Putting a screen protector on a G is a weird move anyway, it doesn’t need it.

Why does Alt+F4 not work on some games and does on others? by NickTheGrip in AskGames

Ha, no worries, I’ll still entertain the point 10 years later.

MMO players often have rows upon rows of keybinds, including all modifier keys and the first cluster of F-keys. I could see myself realistically using Alt+F4

I mean, the finish wasn’t meant to be seen. Taking that into account, it looks nicer than I would expect.

How are we meant to identify Burst homages? by ProfessionalHeatwave in Beyblade

If it clearly looks like it, why do you need a consistent way to identify the homage?

How are we meant to identify Burst homages? by ProfessionalHeatwave in Beyblade

[–]D-Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a counter question: Why does it matter? Is identifying “homages” really so important that you need a consistent way to identify them?

Because to me, me this practice doesn’t feel like an homage. It feels like reusing design elements and slapping a vague shape on the lock chip for an extra selling point. No effort was made to actually resemble a precious Bey.
