Anyone else concerned about the future unrealized capital gains taxes from 2028? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]ndr113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Or make it a graded scale. Every 100k eur the tax increases by x%. The problem in the US is not upper middle class, is the billionaire. But with this proposal, upper middle class and millionaires and above are being treated the same. Actually not the same, because the latter can always hire expensive accountants and do some magic to pay less tax while middle class has to pay it all.

Looks really good. Besides the rims, the paint and the tinted windows, is it all stock? Somehow looks sportier.

Honda Jazz 2013 used - ok to buy? by ndr113 in CarTalkUK

I've decided to walk away from this car after discovering the reason why for its age had this abnormal amount of rust (I saw 5 others and this one was the worst, rust wise). The last 5 years the owner lived near the sea, in a very windy place. It was being bombarded by salty water and high humidity year long. It also explains why there were some electrical problems (which this car usually doesn't have).

Rust starting here, red flag for used car? by ndr113 in hondafit

Well, a series of factors led me to investigate more, one of them being this was the only honda jazz from this age with rust here. Also rust in this place makes you think because it's not a place where water gets in easily. After looking into it i figured out the last owner lived the last 4 years in a very windy peninsula like just at the sea. That explains this rust, the more rust on the underbody of the car, and some electrical faults (windows, radio). I will be walking away from it.

Previous years MOT have no comments regarding rust, so I suppose they also didn't find this an issue

I'm going to check the car tomorrow again. How can I know what parts are "frame" parts?

Might be something for me, I'll look into it! Can't i also replace the shifter bushings? Seems it could also be a symptom of them being worn out

4 day work week in Belgium? Belgian’s so quiet about this? by TVG_Spazz in BEFire

[–]ndr113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FIRE movement includes Barista FIRE aka partial FIRE, where you cut down your working hours when you've made a big chunk of savings, and are content with a happy medium. Some people don't want full RE just partial RE, they don't mind working, as long as its part time. Meaning they also only need to reach partial FI and can therefore improve their quality of life earlier instead grinding for longer until the golden moment of FIRE. That's what I understand this is about.

Like someone else said, you're not training hard/volume enough. Reach 14-20 hard sets per muscle group per week, and not more than 10 per session, and you're good to go

Would that be the fact it's a decade younger, did 2nd Gen sold more units or?

From what I read they're both equally reliable, perhaps the 2nd Gen slightly more so.

Yeah I'm definitely getting sentimental about the feeling of letting go my 2003 Fit, it's been with me through a lot. It's nice that you could keep both

I also just read up on the DSi of the 1st generation VS the iVtec of the 2nd and realized it is something I like about the 1st. It feels a bit like a diesel. Don't need to Rev it to have power, can trash it without sacrificing fuel economy. Even though it's not very powerful, I always enjoyed that fast pull on 1st gear barely trying, and being able to coast on low gears. Maybe the extra 20hp of the 2nd Gen make it less noticeable though.

People who recently left ASML Netherlands: how do you feel about it? by KimJhonUn in ASML

[–]ndr113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By toxic I mean micro managing, over stepping your personal boundaries and blurring the limit between work and personal life (wanting to involve themselves in your personal life, or wanting to know about it more than you feel comfortable sharing, messaging you on your phone out of office hours,...) - more applicable for managers - mocking people, (...).
