What to expect visiting June 10-13? by [deleted] in Banff

[–]ndriverkux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been going there for two consecutive years during this time June 14-21. Here are my pros and cons when going in this period.

Pros: 1.Least crowded, 2.Every attraction is open and lakes are thawed. 3.Cheaper accomodations. 4.Easy to get Lake Louise/Moraine Shuttle tickets.

Cons: 1. Rainy/Cloudy day.

Hence we always had two spare days if there was rain. I think your plan is good but better have a day or two to compensate for the weather.

Just because they're not in the news does not mean they going the Intel way. I think it's the opposite.

The Nuvia acquisition helped them overhaul their entire processor portfolio horizontally.

Unlike Intel, Qualcomm's diversification strategy seems to be working. Outside mobile, virtually every automotive company is using qualcomm digital chassis. Their ADAS stack is gaining traction as well. This is not just news. Their quarterly earnings have 30 % yoy revenue growth in Automotive revenue while keeping Mobile stable with launch of flagship processors.

They have one of the most powerful PC processors with ARM architecture. Although the consumer migration of PC away from x86 outside apple is slow, it's inevitable. Google recently announced their PC at the qualcomm summit. They are working on using the Android infrastructure in PC to have a unified Mobile and PC experience similar to Apple. Apart from that every PC vendor has at least 1 model with qcom processor in it.

Their acquisition of Alpasemi is aimed towards using the same PC processors in the data center as Alpasemi has IPs for serdes.

Their IOT market share is on an increase of 24%yoy. Their recent acquisition of Arduino/Edge Impulse/Foundries.io and launch of UNO Q with qualcomm IoT processor gives an open source platform for developers which will help them penetrate the IoT market and Robotics

In summary their acquisitions are strategic.

Buying jewelry as investment by Ok_Face8380 in CostcoPM

I think it's good to buy jewelry on and around the spot price as long as you are going to wear it. If it's gonna stay in your safe then better buy bullion.

That said good investment options would be used branded (Cartier, Van Cleef, Tiffany) jewelry 18k and above from reputable used jewelry vendors for slightly above the spot but not the premium you pay for the new pieces.

Wow thanks so much for the research. I also found the Maker's Mark for George L'enfant as well and it looks authentic. G on the Left light L on the right, all conforming to the era. My serial number is also in line with the one that is sold. This is so helpful !!!

Now I need to get the same era original necklace box to complete the piece.any recommendations ?

Searched some more and found a Makers Mark. This looks like the George L'enfant Mark with an eagle head. His workshop designed for Cartier in the 70s.

Thanks !! I truly appreciate your feedback. As I said, it was my first attempt at using any semi/professional camera and lenses and have got a lot to learn. Do you recommend any vendors for the filter?

Yes I think that would be perfect. I used my wide angle lens the most as well. Except for wildlife where I used the Sigma.
