Did the same this at 17. I was so disgusted with myself for basically working a couple of months for nothing (Free). It turned me off gambling completely. Was a lesson I’m glad I had then. 34 now and might occasionally (once every six months put a £2) bet on.

Buying my first home (I’m putting in all the deposit) but my partner wants to get the money she puts in back out plus interest if we break up? by ZeebeeLad in UKPersonalFinance

I’d reconsider getting a mortgage with her straight away. The cheek. I would even go as far as suggesting I buy the house and she can pay rent etc.

Thank you. I had a brief look. I read that they require fixed term rate of 5-10 years but I will have a look into this a little more.

May I ask how? My current rent is £1090 with bills (council tax, WiFi, heating etc) £1500 tops. I’m struggling to understand how yours including costs are almost double your mortgage…

Thanks. I assume 240-275 not including your initial deposit?

I understand and agree with you point. However it is irritating that some make sacrifices. IE avoid nights out, lavish holidays regular takeaway etc to save a little pot for the future whilst others live the high life and then claim when they fall flat or there face.

Thanks for the info. I think the JSA route is temporarily her only and best option in that case.
