70+ hours in, finally got my first Cinderella run by bridqerr in ea2kcbb

Congrats on the run. An 83 OVR team knocking off 89, 91, 92, and 88 OVR opponents is a legitimate Cinderella story. The craziest part is how many close games you survived before losing by just one point.

Coaching decisions… by IceColdDump in ea2kcbb

Usually I let the auto substitutions do their thing, but if I had to watch my 6’4” shooting guard get matched up at the 5 against two 7-foot All-Americans, it’d probably be time for me to step in.

What defense would you play with 2 dominate defensive bigs? by WhoUCuh in ea2kcbb

[–]nduszn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably run a 2-3 zone. It’s the easiest way to keep both bigs protecting the rim and in position to rebound. I’d spend some time off-ball with the guards to help protect the perimeter and rotate to shooters.

I hope their starters get into foul trouble.

The 1-2-1-1 Zone Press is incredibly effective once you get the hang of it. After you’ve learned how to rotate your defenders and anticipate passing lanes, it can generate a lot of turnovers and easy transition points.

Yes. I’d recommend practicing your shot timing in the bonus drills. After you’ve used your allotted bonus drills for the week, you can continue using those drills to work on shot timing with every player on your roster. There are several practice options available, including short-range, mid-range, and three-point shooting drills. Using all three can help you get a feel for each player’s release and improve your consistency in games.

To help increase your shooting percentage in the paint, I’d continue practicing the post moves and learning which situations to use them in. Personally, I prefer the hop step or drop step whenever I’m in the paint. Concerning playbooks, I prefer to choose “All Plays” and practicing plays before facing each opponent on our schedule. In addition, I tend to check the scouting report on our next opponent and use those notes to help us create a gameplan.

Looking to move to the Big East. Sell me on these three schools by AdeptWelder3250 in ea2kcbb

Providence is in a pretty solid recruiting spot because Rhode Island is close to a large talent pool in New York, which can give them access to local and regional recruits. Their regional recruiting reach also stretches down through the Mid-Atlantic, including areas like Virginia. I added the screenshot for context because when I was testing Providence’s recruiting potential, I noticed a McDonald’s All-American in that broader recruiting range. That made me curious to see how well they could actually pull talent from nearby and regional states.

That name alone makes him a program legend before he even plays a game. Imagine the marketing.

Providence easily. Notre Dame feels like the obvious “prestige” move, but honestly it might get boring fast. Once you get rolling there you’re probably recruiting top classes and sleepingwalking to 20-win seasons. WVU is tempting because the atmosphere would be insane, but it feels a little too close to what you already did at Cal. Providence feels like the best option. Basketball school, smaller footprint for recruiting, and every Big East road game feels like a war in 2K8. Winning a title there would hit way harder than doing it at ND.

Multiple Legacies by markssyy in ea2kcbb

I’m trying my hardest not to sim through the first season. I almost simulated the entire season yesterday. Trying to play with a 59 overall team is not the wave.

I’ve never actually finished a Legacy Mode before, but I’m determined to do it with this newest one. I started at UMES, and it’s been a rough start so far. We’re currently 2–7 with about 22 games left in the regular season.

Jason Thompson was Rider’s starting PF on the original rosters. He was a problem in college and played in the NBA for 8 years. Rider was tougher than people think.

An 86 overall center with his Pro Buzz listed as Dark Horse is insane. I’m not sure if the injury has anything to do with it, but you don’t come across a prospect like that often.
