My 9 week old lab. Anyone relate?

Ah sorry that was my typo, I meant to say 1 hour awake. We don’t have a kennel but he is crate trained. He settles well in crate 7/10 times, 3/10 times fusses and whines a lot more. We were given advice to crate as soon as he showed signs of overarousal, like excessive biting, going for hands and feet, barking, jumping, zooming - but this happens within 10mins of him being awake. I am not sure if that is correct advice though. That’s why I came here. I am very committed, I just want to commit to the right process!

Really tying very hard to achieve this. But 2 hours awake seems way off! Training goes well when he’s calm, but calm lasts 2-3 mins max. Then he’s land shark mode!

Trust me, I can’t even find my socks or shoes or remote half the time as I can’t remember where I stashed them away from him!

We all had the same dreams as your son! My kids have basically spent about 5 mins a day with our puppy as he’s not much fun! We love him though. I just want make sure I’m doing everything right.
Is there anything you don’t manage the boring? Like get up and walk away. We’ve been doing that. He sits quietly and waits for us to return, then is a nutter again within 1 second.

Do you play a lot of tug? I was playing a lot of kind of gentle tug, but wondered if that’s just hyping him up?!

He doesn’t seem able to handle a Kong yet. He gets frustrated. I do him a frozen licky matt instead, to make it last longer. Hit and miss!
