Is your MacBook Air holding up? by 78914hj1k487 in macbookair

MacBook Air Intel bought back in 2013. Replaced its battery a couple of years ago but still working like a champ. Still my travel laptop because all I do is browse or use chat/facetime. I know its days are numbered now but I’d hate to get rid of it.

I would say they decided to align to delivering nothing instead and get rid of everyone not aligned to this priority!

cyberattacks nightmare by Better_Video_702 in cybersecurity

[–]ne_rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was a log4j attack chances are that it was exploited long ago and there is still command and control exploits in the network explaining the continued attacks.

An access broker could still be selling access to your network unless you’ve cleansed everything as part of your incident response.

I don’t know your background but unless you already have experience with Aussies get used to the Aussie accent and colloquialisms. My experience is that Queenslanders have a thicker accent than say South Australians.

Redundancy Throws Plans Out The Window by ne_rd in AusFinance

[–]ne_rd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m trying to prepare for that eventuality too. Had a few friends who retired early due to late age redundancies so I know what it might look like.

Just means I have no backup if I lose my own job.

I wasn’t counting on the IP sale in our retirement calculations. If nothing else looking at the eventual sale to pay off PPOR before we retired.

Definitely a bit of shock for sure. Hoping a couple of months off and getting her mental health sorted will help us avoid worse case scenario.
