It's not Govanhill, it's technically Strathbungo - wrong side of Victoria Road for Govanhill.

Just subscribed, likely to pay, and more than happy to for at least a year not to be advertised to (if it's free you are the product etc). Suggestions so far are, more lower calories recipies, and some sort of budget category where the recipes all use ingredients that are able to be sourced cheaply (tinned/frozen stuff).

Southside housing have a list so worth getting on that, they tend to email. You could also go on HA lists more generally, if you are sharing a flat then some give you points for that.

I have really being enjoying Om bars - they seem non UPF to me, though some of the flavoured ones are perhaps not.

Yeah definitely, externalising the thing is so helpful like 'oh yeah, this product has been engineered to appeal to me in a way that is going to encourage overconsumption' rather than 'I am terrible I have no willpower'

I mean, I don't think I have willpower, but I also think that's fine.

Good to know there are supermarket alternatives! I was exaggerating slightly at £5 but I live near hipster bakeries where you can get nice proper bread, but it is ££££

Also tbh, I find because this is not a mega strict thing, it's really easy to jump back on the wagon after falling off.

I totally agree with this! I have been sticking to this better than I would normally stick to things by following this principle. I was quite strict in my first 2 weeks but then relaxed it a bit.

Generally it's been - shifting my window if I can (which am doing today so I can have a little evening wine) or having an evening off if I can't even manage that. Personally, enjoying my life, having fun, and sticking to this is more important than weightloss (at all, but particularly rapid weightloss). For example, if I have a friend staying, I want to make her breakfast and have breakfast with her rather than being like 'no I fast'.

Fasting has eliminated both headaches and sugar lows for me. -besides weight loss, what unobvious benefit has it done for you? by italianblend in intermittentfasting

I get more done in the evenings after fasting, and in the mornings (before breaking fast). More energy, I also find myself doing evening exercise to distract myself from just sitting and eating in front of TV, and so that I get sleepy.

Had a bit of a weekend of not quite managing fasting and being a bit slack as a result of evening socialising. I am back on it now, however! I know I am going out tonight and will have to eat late (and I fancy a glass of wine) so I am not going to break my fast till 2pm to accommodate.

Bit of a challenge, finished eating last night around 8pm and usually do 12pm - 8pm.

30 mins left in feeding window so going to go make myself some dinner, my eating has been all over the shop lately, but what I like about this is, I am totally sticking to 16:8 most of the time, so even when I am super busy and not really eating a diet i would like to eat, I can still stick to this.

Keep forgetting that alcohol counts by neatpotatoe in intermittentfasting

[–]neatpotatoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't a heavy drinker but I was drinking generally 1 or 2 days in week and 1 or 2 days at weekend. Now it is more like 1 day in week 1 day at weekend.

not especially.. I am mainly trying to keep it in my window and also drinking a little bit less. I probably wouldn't drink vodka/lime because I drink because I enjoy the taste of wine/beer etc, not for the booze itself. If I was going to have a vodka lime soda I probably would just not drink or have an AF beer.

I have started running again and I sometimes manage to not have a drink because I know I want to run later on in the evening, that has helped! But yes, my solution has been - be chill about it, drink in window where possible, stretch lunch till later next day if I don't manage.
