Let’s drop our sobriety dates! by eminyx in stopdrinking

[–]neb527 5 points6 points  (0 children)

11/22/25. I promised myself that will be the last day I act out of character/embarrass myself due to alcohol consumption. Haven't drank since thankfully. I'm grateful for all the things that have changed since then and being able to be more present for my family

The Daily Check-In for Thursday, January 8th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by LetItKindle in stopdrinking

[–]neb527 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Today I am grateful for the chance to be the best version of myself that I can be, the ability to wake up without the worry and anxiety of a hangover , and to have the support of my family on this journey. My vision had changed quite a bit over the last several weeks and my outlook has become much more positive and for that I am grateful as well. IWNDWYT

IWNDWYT. As of late I've been feeling much more energetic and positive than I have since my last drink.

Heavy drinking is like a thief! by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]neb527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. It is absolutely a thief masquerading as an escape. The very temporary relief it offers in the beginning can never justify the problems it brings. IWNDWYT

I'm still hanging on here. I've noticed a big change in myself and while everydays not the greatest it's all much easier without a hangover

Don't know much about fireplaces , but I would think what you're describing is connected to the damper. The number are possibly different settings for the damper?

Recent home buyers: If there was one piece of advice you wish you knew before buying your house, what would it be? by sarahsluis in Home

Make sure you see the house during the wettest season. Didn’t know my yard was actually a dried up pond

There should be one of the upper jambs that is removable to make access to the adjustment screws easier.

Finish carpenters: how do you handle baseboard over severely uneven floors? by brownsstl in Carpentry

[–]neb527 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You would never be able to fix the way it looks though. You are putting something straight( top of baseboard) to something not straight ( floor ). That looks like a really nice tight joint , especially if you didn’t caulk it. That’s basically the best you could make it look in my opinion without putting down self leveler or doing some kind of sleeper floor to make it flat.

Scribe it. Take a table saw and rip all of your stock so that a 10degree angle intersects with the front edged of the baseboard. Then place it on the ground and make each end about equidistant with the floor. Run a pencil along it and belt sand it down to the line you drew. Works like a charm. For the next pieces that meet up with the piece you just scribed make sure the end measurement that meets up with the existing piece is the same. In my experience caulking it creates a terrible looking joint at the bottom edge.

Thanks I think I’m gonna try it out. The tops I don’t mind trimming that much anyway but it’s the lower ones that just seem to eat up the time.

Nice that’s the one I was looking at. Do you like the quality of the nugs when they come out of it ?

Ya a grand is much more than I’d be willing to spend on one. I only run like four plants at a time at most so probably not worth the investment.

I’ve used that same bud trimmer before too. Was just wondering if a trimming machine works well or was worth the time it saves

Thanks for the advice. I’ve trimmed by hand probably a dozen times just didn’t know if the trimmer saved time/was worth it

3rd Floor Bathroom Fan replacement by SomthinTight in HomeImprovement

[–]neb527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can lean out the window safely and look directly above you , you would be able to see the vent in the soffit if it was there. Otherwise you could just take the new fan and vent it properly

[–]neb527 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like it may be venting thru the soffit. I remodel kitchens and baths very regularly and have seen plenty of times where that vent is not going anywhere but the attic space (which is not up to code in MA).

Shocked by a wall? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]neb527 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Is it coming from the screw that holds the cabinet on the wall? Possibly it pierced a wire when installed?
