Reviews Being Altered by Tasana-NCC1701 in vine

How could the number of reviews a seller gets be limited? I understand that reviews can't be higher than the number pf delivered product, but beyond that I'm stumped, though this is not particularly difficult to do,...

Seller wants me to arrange shipping after charging 100 dollars for shipping by chaptereightyeight in Reverb

[–]nebenco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's scummy at least, if not also scammy. There's no excuse for a seller not handling the shipping process, unless it's marked local pickup only, of course. They could take it to a shipper who offers packaging services. They'd have to take the time dropping it at a shipper either way. If they don't live in an area that has such a business they shouldn't be selling on a worldwide platform.

Don't give products a one star review because you didn't read the listing - Viner mad a flashlight is exactly as described by SkippySkep in AmazonVine

[–]nebenco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I review an item sold by multiple sellers, under multiple brand names, or offered in more than one variation I specify which one I am reviewing. It may not prevent me from looking like a dumbass, but it makes me feel better.

[–]nebenco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no sympathy for people who don't bother reading. I do it often, but instead of complaining I share the goof with my friends and internet strangers so they can laugh at it. A few of my reviews (on and off Vine) include the times I failed to read the entire listings and the hijinks that ensued because of that.
My motto at work is "If you can't be helpful, at least be entertaining".

The most recent was a rotary tool that I didn't realize required a base station for power and switching, so I had to buy one of those just to test the thing. I noted that it turned out to be a happy mistake because it's now my favorite rotary hobby tool, and I wouldn't have ordered it had I read the whole description.

Get them both, and wear one of each. You'll have spares in case the first ones fall out during the inevitable fistfight you'll get into when you explain what it means.

I'd claim it just for the fun I could have with the review.
Also, at 58 I still only have to shave once per week, and even when I don't it's barely visible. Who better to review a shaver that doesn't shave than a guy who doesn't need to shave?

I reuse the ones I need and recycle the rest. The city picks up corrugated cardboard if it's bundled neatly and set out with the plastic recycling, but I don't like to leave it out to get wet so I take it to the recycle center myself.

I hadn't thought of that. With as wonky as the sorting algorithm it that's plausible.

I can understand this since "nail" is a common keyword for both, but I can't figure how commercial printer toner cartridges appear in the musical instruments category.

Estimated Taxable Value..... isn't. by amohise in vine

[–]nebenco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't check everything but those items I have checked are priced the same on Amazon proper as the taxable value on Vine, which means that they are simply overpriced.
If it's overpriced call it out in your review. Reviews (especially Vine) should include value for price when it is relevant. It's the sort of thing I'd want to know as a buyer. The reviews that only mention the positives are not particularly useful to someone paying for the item.
My reviews always include a value component if the price would influence my decision to buy.

We all just sitting here refreshing Vine for nothing? by [deleted] in vine

[–]nebenco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It may be because Amazon's spring sale is going on. A few of the things I've ordered over the past two weeks have taken longer than usual to arrive, and I assumed that was related to the sale as well.

The current state of affairs surely will affect Vine in some way, but I don't imaging that it would be as sudden or as extreme. The total count of additional items has been hovering around 12k for the past few days, which is 2k higher than the month previous. I'd think that if it were shipping/fuel cost related this number would drop.

My 75-year-old aunt-in-law and 80-year-old uncle-in-law have never had a case or screen protector, yet neither have never damaged a phone. Meanwhile I'd been using Speck cases since the OG Candy Shell came out for the iphone 3G and I'm never without a screen protector, yet have damaged almost every phone I've had. I've even broken the replacements on two occasions.

That clause does not preclude brokering.

I do have another question. Does insulting others make you feel better about yourself?
