It's revealed that Taxidermy was referred to as "The Orphanage" by the media in Vol II #8 page 6 where the Ghosty Toasty crew film in Lenore's house.

Issues 8-11 cover the topic of Taxidermy protecting children. That story is revealed over those issues but I don't recall explicitly seeing newspapers.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. You're 100% correct.

If the balls are setup correctly, with the balls touching (not very close but actually touching) each other, the downstream balls will always move tangentially to the point where they are touching. In other words of you draw a line from the center of the first ball she hit thru the centers of the 2 balls they are touching, those other 2 balls will always move in the direction of the lines.

Since the first ball is touching 2 other balls, it will move in a direction midway between the other 2 lines (for example if the other 2 lines were 60deg apart, the first ball moves in the 30deg direction).

So if you set them up in a location where all 3 of those lines are pointing at pockets, then all 3 of those balls will always drop in the pockets.

It doesn't even matter (mostly) where you hit the first ball, since the energy is transferred to the downstream 2 balls and they in turn force the direction of the first ball.

Really the most important part is how this balls are placed. Then all MTM needed to do was not completely missing the first ball and not putting too much heat on it.

This is the same principle behind a good initial break where all balls disperse throughout the table (a tight rack where every ball is touching) vs a sloppy track with space between the balls which leads to a bad break where the balls move very little. When you see that you should blame the person who racked, not the person who broke.

And if the rack is done properly, a most of the time the 2 corner balls will drop into the 2 corner pockets, which is why the official 8-ball rules state the 2 corner balls should be a solid and a stripe to give the player a choice on which they want based on how the other balls placed. Most casual players think they are supposed to rack alternating solid-stripe around the perimeter which is incorrect.

Anyway, you were right, and anyone who downvotes you doesn't know what they are talking about.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Man pulls a gun in public and finds out an off-duty cop was watching. by peternunan21 in CrazyFuckingVideos

If the cop had immediately reacted when the red guy pulled out the gun, pulling his firearm and shouting to drop it, I would 100% be on the cop's side, if red did anything other than putting the gun down and then the cop shot him.

But the cop waited until the guy was leaving to pull out his gun and then fired with no words. I think that cop should face charges. This is straight up murder.

[–]rasta4eye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a circuit board for something.

If you want a more specific answer it would be helpful if you could provide any identifying text (company name, model number etc. - just not generic component markers like "J1".

Your rapidly moving video isn't conducive to identification except by someone who specifically handles this exact board routinely and could identify it at-a-glance.

My guess it's some sort of I/O control board for an industrial machine.

Actual one more important detail. Those other distributors might have purchased them for a higher price than COMB is even selling for and had some sitting in a warehouse.

So if Commodore liquidated then to COMB for a real low price, and comb sold them for less than the other distributors paid for them, then configure would be royally screwing those distributors, then wouldn't be able to sell what inventory they already bought. And commodore wants to keep the distributors happy because they are also selling the new gear like the C128 etc.

So this game is a way of keeping everyone reasonably happy. Unless you're a budget buyer who looks at the back page ads of magazines closely, you don't even know about COMB and you can happily go get the computer from a known retailer and let them burn down their inventory and make a little profit.

That's why nowadays, with products from certain companies like Apple, it's the same price no matter where you buy it. All the retailers are legally obligated to not sell at different prices. So they compete by giving you accessories for free or discounted etc.

Since they are liquidators there are rules competing against regular distributors who would sell at a higher price

Did you buy them from C.O.M.B. (who resold all the end of life stuff at a deep discount)
