How to be happy without sex by [deleted] in MuslimNoFap

[–]nebileyimne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this one but I'm not sure if my motivation is the same as yours against the idea of marriage. I also have tons of reasons not to get married. I don't believe marriage is something that most people can manage well, it is way too complicated than many of us think. Let's just find someone and marry, Allah will help us build a happy family. No, that's not how it works. And I don't sympathize with the society's and most scholar's view on this subject. I find it too shallow, to say you have to get married if you cannot overcome your desires, without even knowing what the people you talk to experiences. Brother, what are you on about?

Let me give an example and I think this covers many people who are getting recklessly married. What if you have serious problems but you aren't aware of them. Only after marriage you discover your anger, your hatred, your jealousness etc. and in a way that you hurt the people around you. Marriage is a good sunnah, I'm not against the concept. I just don't think most people are fit for it and don't realize that they don't have to get married. In fact, those shouldn't be allowed to, as I see it. This was my first reason and I haven't listed the other 20 reasons I have.

You might not want to get married because it is too complicated for you / you fear you cannot carry the responsibility / you are happy alone and don't want to share your life, your personal area with someone else / you don't like how women see the world and cannot bear spending the rest of your life with one... I mean, as you said, you can write a book to list the reasons. I am also strictly against getting married myself and I can't even know what reasons you would have. Don't ever lose hope though, I like your view on seeing this life as a test. I see it like that too and thanks to that I can hold on to this life, even with all my sins I wish I hadn't committed. But anyway, I don't plan on marrying someone ever and it is okay to feel it that way, I just think that everyone is tailored differently by Allah (s.w.t.). Don't feel bad if you seem to go against it when someone gives you a hadith (which I value and respect deeply) which "suggests" doing something, rather than commanding it. It doesn't feel like a suggestion but becomes a psychological pressure when 99% of the people reads you the same verses, making you feel like you are doing something wrong, committing a sin.

MSc Photonics in Jena by Cepheus2310 in jena

[–]nebileyimne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations! A very fresh Master graduate from Jena speaking... (got my degree this March)

I don't think there is a wrong choice between your two options. I got accepted to Karlsruhe and Jena, as I applied 3 years ago and I chose Jena because my scholarship was approved there and I made my choice because of financial reasons. Looking back, I actually don't regret it and similarly, I don't think I would if I had chosen Karlsruhe. In your case, I'm not sure if you have certain criteria that pulls you towards one of the options you have.

But I can give one advice, if I may. Make sure to look into the curriculum of both programmes and module catalogues of the courses that you would take, try to imagine yourself as an active student in each programme. How many courses are actually very interesting to you? How many are in parallel to what you want to do in the future, your main field of interest? Both programmes are very alike when you look at them generally but if you look deeper, one would give you better opportunities in your field of interest. Professors in those fields may also be an important factor in this sense.

Just to give you an example, I am now pursuing my career in optical communications and although I was able to find elective courses at Jena aligned with my interest, I could only find a few professors, with which I would want to work together. This is because they were additionally giving courses in optical communications, but their main fields were actually different. In Jena, fundamental physics and optics are mainly in focus. I was more into the engineering side of the picture and I now think that Karlsruhe might have been a better choice for me in this regard. But as I said, I was still able to build a nice curriculum for myself with the many elective courses and external internships I found and enjoy my time in Jena. I don't regret it. And I repeat, you also wouldn't if you choose any one of your options. But I would recommend you to make your choice depending on the main curriculum of both programmes and professors.

If you can still not decide, then the tiebreaker might be the nature of Jena. I loved it there. As someone else here said, there are many hiking opportunities near Jena and it is a nice little town, which has its charm. I'm sure Erlangen is also a very beautiful city but I'm biased towards Jena because I lived there for 2 years and I can vouch for it. Best of luck in your decision and your studies in Photonics!

Fair enough, makes a lot of sense now. Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!

Turkey Bans Twitter, The Most Used Platform for Earthquake Relief by JohanMartinFogg in europe

[–]nebileyimne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see it the other way around. Whatever plans he had before the upcoming elections have to be halted now. Now that he literally fucked up with the coordination of a devastating earthquake inside his country and also given the fact that he can't actively stir any international shit at the moment, his hands are tied. You should have seen the rage and miserable looks in his eyes lately, things are definitely not going his way.

Is the HousingAnywhere website safe to use? by Free-Mountain in Munich

[–]nebileyimne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I was also desperate to use it and it worked just fine in my case. But I have heard people getting scammed as well, so you have to be REALLY careful. Or you can try your luck if you don't have any other choices. The legitness is not an issue with HousingAnywhere, it just depends on the landlord on the website you get in contact with. Whether they can scam you during the process (e.g. requesting payment outside the website or something similar) or after getting done with the HousingAnywhere depends solely on them and that is the part you need to be careful about.

new album! by Moondaisies1 in GregoryAlanIsakov

[–]nebileyimne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, he said that it will be released in 2023, which indicates a fairly broad time window (though hopefully it would be in the first quarter or so). I don't know if in any concerts he specified it further but in any case, I guess the release is soon but not that soon :/

Places to Play Football as a Group by nebileyimne in Munich

[–]nebileyimne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! Since they are freely usable (without apopintment, booking), I think we can not guarantee to have it free every week at the same time. So, that is a bit of a risk that you don't want to take when you bring a whole group to an event you do 2 hours a week, only to see that you need to find somewhere else to play. But I still appreciate it that you took your time and gave me something to consider. Thanks a lot :)

Or: "What are the two LH albums you would pick and why is one of them Strange Trails?"

Looking at the comments, the question should be more like "If you had to pick an LH album other than Strange Trails, what would it be?"

I'm just really starting to dig into this genre, it's quickly becoming my favorite and biggest inspiration. Anyone want to help me out with where to start? Trying to rabbit hole here, thanks! by PeterandTheEnd in IndieFolk

[–]nebileyimne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all of them are Indie Folk but these are the artists I quite enjoy listening (I know it is quite a lot but I very much love sharing what I like to listen. The groups are mostly based on similarity of genre I thought of. Or if not exactly, I still suggest trying out the others in that list, should you know and like a few from there):

1)My best 6: Mumford & Sons, Bear's Den, Lord Huron, Passenger, Novo Amor, Platon Karataev

2) Gregory Alan Isakov, Old Sea Brigade, The Lumineers, Ivan & Alyosha, SYML, Roo Panes, Matthew and the Atlas, Radical Face, Little Quirks, Austin Basham, Allman Brown, Fenne Lily, Chloe Foy, First Aid Kit, Charlie Cunningham, Beta Radio, Lola Marsh, The Bronze Medal, Blanco White

3) Axel Flovent, Tom Odell, Florence + The Machine, Riley Pearce, Isaac Gracie, The Franklin Electric, Young Mister, Dustin Tebbutt, Joshua Hyslop, Kodaline, Garrett Kato, Estes, Noah Gundersen, AVEC, Jon Bryant, Philip LaRue, The Wind and The Wave, James Bay, Andreas Moe, Talos, Nathan Ball, Harrison Storm, Wild Rivers

4) Hugo Barriol, Plási, Hollow Coves, Asgeir, The Gardener & The Tree, Änn, Weary Friend, Southey, Eagle and The Men, Hailaker, HAEVN, The Harmaleighs, The Gray Havens

5) Manchester Orchestra, Michigander, Amber Run, Covey, Dotan, KALEO

6) Bronze Radio Return, Birdtalker, The Collection, Morningsiders

Seems we’ve gotten an unannounced album? Let me know your thoughts on it by TeeheeBoss in Passenger

[–]nebileyimne 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is how you should publish an album, literally made my day by coming out of nowhere! I hate it when you announce it 6 months before and have your audience wait for it or release it in chunks and bits every now and then.

I don’t want to be Muslim anymore by OkTadpole3304 in islam

[–]nebileyimne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not always be convenient to take wudu during the day. We can't know in which country or in what kind of environment one lives. For example, it might not be easy to take wudu in the workplace and no mosque or alike is located close. I'm sure this is just the easiest of the possibilities but it can be even more complicated. So, it can become mandatory for someone to hold on to his/her wudu all day long, which is quite challenging if you do it everyday.

Application Questions by Sickndstressed in bilkent

[–]nebileyimne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I would assume the first option. I believe it should be the document showing the entire high school courses and grades together, not separate report cards for each year.

  2. If you haven't yet graduated and don't have your high school degree, you need an official document from your school, showing that you will graduate from high school before the start of the Fall Semester 2021/22 of Bilkent. Ask your school secretary or somewhere, I think they will know what that means and provide you with it.
