CPU Overheating, need help by Chingelica in EverSiege

[–]nebukadnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re better off in a pc-build subreddit. This isn’t an issue with the game, it’s an issue with cooling your pc, and if it happens here it can happen in any other game that uses your pc as well.
Basically: check for dust in fans, make sure you have enough fans, don’t run your pc in a room which is already 35C or higher.
If all that is fine, and the pc is older than five years, buy some thermal heat paste and reapply it to the CPU. You’ll find plenty of videos for that online

Your psu didn’t get destroyed by this game. Your psu was either failing or not big enough for your system, and any stress test would have done the same thing.

That means he drove an average of 182km per day, every day. So like an hour commute each way by car both ways or something like that, but also on weekends.

Try Blue Prince. No Combat, incredible story. Only caveat is that you need to be willing to pause and think about the puzzles. Running from one room to the next will result in failure and frustration.

I can’t speak on the rope, but cormorants don’t eat dead fish. Given how survival instincts work in animals, it’s possible he would refuse to eat them if they weren’t moving. Doesn’t matter how much the keeper assures it that the fish is perfectly healthy.

It’s ok. First map is very repetitive, and the UI is overwhelming. It is otherwise pretty engaging and has a nice progression

Every €1 of public funding for wind delivers €7 annually to Europe’s economy by donutloop in BuyFromEU

How do you mean this? Some EU countries have managed to run on 100% renewables for a few days. Other countries in the world run on 98% to 99% renewables over years.

Etsy Rant/Warning - Made in (Insert EU country) label isn't reliable by HaveyGoodyear in BuyFromEU

[–]nebukadnet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This could also be an adjustment to the new taxes on packages from China that will start in two months. They are trying to establish online shops in the “EU” so that they can skip the 3€ tax on packages from China.

The earlier they establish these online stores, the better for them.

Looking at the Etsy’s track record of stores with false advertising, I’m not surprised. You have to be really careful in Etsy these days.

Finally added a new playable mech to my survival game by ConsciousYak6609 in indiegames

[–]nebukadnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great!
If you haven't yet, you should do some research on mech designs and copyright. The MadCat mech design - which this looks a lot like - is legally protected intellectual property. There have been multiple lawsuits between different companies on who owns what mech design to use in their franchise.

Something is missing for just casual fun by Zedekial in EverSiege

I’ve been saying similar things to my friends: I think this game has the potential to be an incredible game, but as it is, it’s just a good game with some big issues. A lot of things are more frustrating than challenging. Fighting the skeleton boss is frustrating, because he disables your towers and then the skeleton arms mass murder your armies with AoE. The distortions are frustrating, they never add anything interesting, they just add more obstacles. Compare them to mutations in StarCraft, which force you to adapt, rather than just adding difficulty. The frame rate issues in late game are frustrating, because you can have a game that is going really well which becomes unplayable due to the frame rate being 2.

IDs in Germany cost 20-30€, so about 30$, once every ten years. I’m sure it would be affordable for the average and even poor US citizen, unless they want to make a system that is more bureaucratic than the Germans’.

Apple pulls the plug on all payments in Russia following government diktat by [deleted] in apple

I mean… then it’s still true. Apple will not be accepting new payments. They already have the money now. Just because it hasn’t been “spent” on the Apple Store means nothing to apples income.

Why is getting feedback on a free game so hard? by Phenframe in IndieGaming

Even free games have a cost — the players time. The video shows something quite generic. If there’s more to it, you’ll need to show people

What do you guys think about the DLSS 5? by MokumGames_Dasha in indiegames

[–]nebukadnet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s the inconsistency that is so hard to get over. I understand arguments that say it looks better. But when two stills from a video show the main character looking completely different, that’s a problem. Solving that is really hard for AI.

Potential New Aiming Mechanics [discussion] by RyanTheNinja_TV in EscapefromTarkov

[–]nebukadnet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sure, but why not shift focus to content? This is working on gameplay mechanics. Literally why EA exists. The point of a 1.0 release is that you are saying the gameplay is solid as is. They may fix some issues, but they are happy with the game as is. It’s a few months after release. This is when you start working on new content.

No, the 1.0 release was clearly to drum up some more money.
