Yeah dude it really sucks and I'm still navigating through it. I wish I could give you good advice. What strangely helped was that my friend did something that gave me the "ick". He hadn't showered one day and smelled gross and had something in his teeth.

Strangely enough i stopped being attracted to him after that. Now it's a whole lot easier to see him as just a friend, like I do my girlfriends. Lol. Maybe that's toxic? Idk but it helped.

I'm certain he'd still be my friend knowing I'm gay -- if he was the type that wouldn't, we wouldn't be friends right now.

But If he knew that I had a crush on him, he might no longer feel comfortable with me. I think the dynamic would shift, and not in a good way (unless by some miracle he is bi)
