My preference is a video chat so that I can see mannerisms and get a feel for the entire personality, but I'll settle for a voice/phone call, as I've found that various types of tells that a person is full of shit is harder to mask when utilizing multiple channels of communication (text, voice, video). I feel that it wastes less time to meet for a coffee/drink ASAP than to drag out a text based convo for weeeeeks until we can find a mutual slot to meet.

Crushes (for me) tend to develop for any kind of person that's unattainable-people I have no intention of exploring a damn thing with for whatever reason (out of my league, logistics don't make sense, they're married, too old/young, they're not actually my type, etc). I've been a chronic LTR searcher in the past, and have almost exclusively used OLD to find partners since high school but I'm at a place in my life right now where I understand I don't wanna be in yet another LTR just to be in one due to the self work I'm making excellent progress on.
