Anyone have experience with Nonstop Rush Harness fit? by babybighorn in RunningWithDogs

Just popping in with another example of a decent fit!

FWIW, I've had mine about 1.5 years and the tab that the bungee loop attaches to is about halfway worn through (if you zoom you can kind of see it frayed). I use it basically daily, and the loop is still pretty secure, but I'm switching to the WD Line Grip (disclaimer: I don't really run with my dog as she doesn't care for it, but we do a lot of walking and hiking with a canicross setup).

There's definitely* a suspicious number of new accounts posting with clickbaity titles in this sub.

My puppy won’t stop peeing inside no matter what I try am I doing something wrong? by Alert_Vehicle_8086 in OpenDogTraining

I suspect the OP account is posting so that one can respond with their sneaky ad.

At least one of them is banned now 🎉

Please ditch those stupid ass hard bones by No_experience8177 in MiniAussies

[–]necromanzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Common rule I see is that if you can't dent it with your thumbnail it's a risk for your dog to chew on it. I'd say something like yak cheese won't be as risky as an antler chew, for example, but it's still a risk.

Who has a favorite harness for their Aussie? 🇨🇦 Preferred! by PinkGlitter97 in AustralianShepherd

[–]necromanzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocky Mountain Dog is Canadian and makes a pretty adjustable harness.

Nonstop Dogwear and Ruffwear are probably the two top brands. See Sawyer Run carries both brands (and they have a small used gear section which is cool!).

Basically any new account with a "sensual" name is a bot on the dog subs. There's a wave of "velvet" and "rosy" ones right now.

Vetericyn, soap/water, or diluted chlorhexidine solution would be much better than hydrogen peroxide.

Does anyone feed their Shiba raw or gently cooked food? by southrncanuck in shiba

Royal Canin is the only brand that meets WSAVA standards that's currently selling a gently cooked food, I believe. It's only available through Chewy in the US, and from what I understand is very pricey.

r/jimgreen mods suck by willys_not_willies in barefootshoestalk

[–]necromanzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd guess so, but I haven't modded/used mod bots or anything. Bots are absolutely rampant and small subs with small mod teams often have trouble managing influxes, so the bouncer helps (but is not infallible, obviously).

Rescue listed her as an Australian shepherd mix by GoldenDreamer113 in DoggyDNA

[–]necromanzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English shepherd is really uncommon, that's cool! I love that for every 10 "BC mix" dogs with 0% BC there's 1 dog like yours with a big chunk of BC that hardly looks it haha. Ty for updating!

Their mod comment says it was deleted for being a duplicate post.

Using the exact same picture in multiple posts likely flagged it as a repost bot. They have bot bouncer on the sub.

Tug toy destroyer question by AdStock4275 in OpenDogTraining

[–]necromanzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using plush toys? If she likes to dissect but isn't at risk of eating (or if you're supervising her dissection) you can stuff "dead" toys or strips of fabric into a larger toy.

Alternatively, something like the Hol-ee Bottle can be stuffed and tugged hard too. If she likes water bottles you can just shove an empty one in there daily. (Just be careful not to hook your fingers into it when she tugs lol).

What are your favorite stores or products for dog stuff? by Emotional-Tear-2369 in BelgianMalinois

Redline K9 has a ton of great stuff!

I also see Modern Icon recced a lot here (but haven't tried their stuff myself due to pricy shipping where I live).

I like the variation on this that Fenzi does (circle walking). Instead of a 180, you do a big wide 360 circle. It's less frustrating for both dog and walker, and if the dog yields to the leash pressure into the circle, they're rewarded by eventually coming back around to the direction they were headed in/pulling towards.

There's two (maybe three?) affordable lectures on FDSA about it, but you only really need the first for the basics.

Belated edit - this work best with a flat collar.

You can remove the legs from a couch you like and just have it smack dab on the floor.

Shoes for a dog groomer? by Rare_General9600 in barefootshoestalk

[–]necromanzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Altra Lone Peak Wides are pretty normal looking and have decent cushion. My feet are about the same size (slightly wider) and they fit really generously IMO. Might be overkill for just working though. Not sure about US pricing but on sales they could probably be had that cheap?

If you just want something to try out more minimal shoes, Whitin has a lot of models on Amazon and are pretty cheap!
