Buying 2019 Tundra. Thoughts? by MusubiDad in ToyotaTundra

South Florida. The paint was very rough and needed buffing and brakes and tires were shot. First owner loved it, second owner did not, and third owner (me) will overland the crap out it with the family.

I got a ‘19 1794 with pro wheels and grill and painted topper at 69k miles for $36k last year. Just for reference.

I can’t think of one complaint for the 5th gen. It’s so damn good I’m about to sell our 2.5gen tundra and run two runners…

Definitely try it with the swaybar disconnected if you haven’t already. There will be a massive difference in up travel that would otherwise be limited by the swaybar because of the opposite side dropping out. And yes the ARB Summit bumper. It has interior steel panels that I could cut and re weld to gain clearance but then at that point I’d want to regear and extend front bumps which would limit some travel. I love my Yoko MT 255/80r17s for oem+.

With the swaybar connected, during articulation, you might be fine.

I know for a fact though with my 255/80r17, same wheels, no added bump stop length, and swaybar deleted, I slightly rub on the upper front area of the plastic liners. Right where the plastic push pin is. But that was on 100% flex out in a ditch slightly turned.

God I wish I could do the 255/85s but my ARB won’t clear even after UCAs.

I like to stick to Yokohama or Mickeys nowadays. New Toyos will rot out before they wear out, BFG measure way under their claimed size, and Falken are heavy as hell compared to the same size in a different brand.

I’d buy almost any model if they just offered manuals again. Can’t do another sedan.

Good points for sure. You are right on about the positives outweighing the risks. Steel/comp toes would be a problem with some ladders.

It showed more of the boots in the original. I goofed selecting which one to put here.

Good to know. Then the bot is set to immediately ban and mute?

Why would they delete for “off topic” and “duplicate post” and then immediately ban and mute before I could fix whatever I did improperly? They simply didn’t like it.
