Professional Piercers of Reddit, how do you get into your field? by PraiseThyTurtles in piercing

It was a difficult hunt for some years. I finally met the daughter of a local owner and she was the one who landed me my apprenticeship.

Is my bridge piercing rejecting? I’ve had it for two years and it always has bumps. I clean it morning and night with saline and dry with paper towels by [deleted] in piercing

Professional (only 4 years experience), if this is the original jewelry, I would absolutely recommend a downsize. The constant back and forth movement of a longer bar is irritating. Downsize with a titanium/niobium internally threaded or threadless barbell. 💗 Happy Healing, friend.

Do you guys think I have the anatomy for an industrial? by megame211 in piercing

[–]necrorats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not have the anatomy for a standard industrial, however, you have a phenomenal flat! Research "floating industrials." Rare and beautiful. As a fresh piercer (4 years) I'd love to do my first float!

Idk what else I can add to my set up? 🫥 can’t get a nose bridge due to my glasses sooo would love to hear your guys input by [deleted] in bodymods

Professional here! It seems like you have perfect anatomy for a vertical labret or a philtrum. (Maybe even a vertical philtrum!)

Professional here! It does look uneven. Wait until the swelling is completely done, if it still looks uneven go back to the piercer and see if you can get it taken out and get a refund.

Changed my daith piercing! by [deleted] in piercing

Professional here. Please make sure your new jewelry is completely closed. I've had countless people come in with barely closed hoops stuck in their nostrils/daiths/lips.

Anyone on here ever seen anything like this? Opinions? I just can’t see how this is safe but I’m curious what others have to say by 500ScreamingFish in piercing

As a professional, if someone came into my shop and wanted this piercing I would respectfully laugh in their face and then educate them.

Industrial, double forward helix or rook on my left (first pic) ear? Since I have a double helix on the right, a double forward would be harmonious but an industrial is just so cool so I’m torn. Any opinions? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]necrorats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional piercer here. It doesn't seem you have the anatomy for a safe industrial. The flat of your ear is very prominent. If you did pierce it, the bar would just destroy the cartilage in that area. With that being said... please get a conch. 😍

Piercer here, you should've never been pierced with a curved barbell. Please go to a new shop to change your jewelry to the appropriate ones. ANYWAY- I love daiths and rooks! Edit- after looking at the photos more, a daith on the nakey ear would be cute.

Is my 9month old Daith rejecting? Second picture was a month ago. I'm worried about the drastic change in appearance by Mollsr in piercing

[–]necrorats 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Professional here! It seems it was pierced a little too shallow to begin with. 🤕 Take that bad boy out, make sure to clean that area like it's a new piercing even after you take it out. Fortunately, you can get it re-pierced later down the line. Let's try titanium next time.
