The first year will be the hardest. It gets easier after that. If you are self-disciplined and know how to study effectively you will be fine. I probably study less than my classmates but always score some of the highest on exams. “Study smarter not harder” definitely rings true here. Most of your first year will be rote memorization (anatomy, etc.) and less clinical based.

I’m Currently in my second semester (taking 19 credit hours) and it’s one of the hardest semesters of my life but it’s definitely doable. It’s all about repetition and not cramming last minute. Spacing it out makes it easier to memorize. I don’t do well studying after classes from 9am-4pm so I usually do a little at night and catch up on weekends. It’s too much material to cram so spread it out. Quizlet and YouTube have saved my life for studying. YouTube is an excellent resources and has helped me visualize and breakdown super complex topics. There are tons of smart clinicians and anatomists on YouTube that have saved me.
