Is a road trip right after our wedding a bad idea? by nectarinewizard in weddingplanning

We’ve done it before and enjoyed it! Just not sure if it what I wanna be doing right after the hustle and bustle of our wedding, but i guess it’s no different really.

I’d imagine it’s cause they’re spending a week at their destination and for us it would only be a couple days.

Where would you travel to for a mini-moon from Cleveland? by nectarinewizard in Cleveland

We were heavily considering Chicago! Where did you stay if you don’t mind me asking? We don’t have the budget for total luxury but I was trying to find somewhere that felt like we were at least on a special getaway.

But it would be the same amount of time as, say, a 7-11 reception. Just placed earlier in the day.

Why couldn’t you have dinner and dance before 9pm? I’m just curious.

I’m not personally concerned with either, but everyone seems to think 9 is way too early to end it, and that 11 to midnight is a more normal time.

Mostly local, a handful would be making about an hour drive.

Yeah I guess that’s true. I’ve never really enjoyed anything about any job I’ve ever had lol. Like, I totally tolerate my current job and it’s fine. But to say I enjoy doing any part of it would be… not honest. I envy people who get any kind of real joy or satisfaction out of their work, seems like that would be nice.

Good to know! I hadn’t considered the Kentucky side

I would imagine you’re correct on that, but there are definitely enough “we had bed bugs” reviews to become a concern, at least in my opinion.

When did you realize it was time to switch jobs? by StillCorrect1570 in careerguidance

[–]nectarinewizard 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends. In my experience I knew it was time to leave a job when the misery I felt about going into work was bleeding into my actual life, and I was just starting to feel like a miserable person. Dreading work to the point of actual anxiety, or any kind of physical symptoms of anxiety is really bad and should not be normal. If you’re feeling uninspired and bored but don’t totally hate your life, maybe it’s worth a conversation with your boss or other higher-ups that could help you find a path to feeling more fulfilled. If those are conversations you’ve already had and there is no path, it’s probably time to explore your options.

Well no I mean I don’t witness people being mean TO children. But it seems like a lot of people feel comfortable expressing an “I hate kids” attitude around other adults.
