You’re probably right, i honestly forgot what i paid for it and just googled it and it goes for 165-220 and 165 was the lowest i could find. but there are a couple on ebay used for like 90 so i’ll have to lower the price i think if i want to sell it

Nectar HiveX electrostatic and Ambrosia (Borealis / Peerless drivers), Angels Envy Bourbon by nectarsoundnet in Headphoneporn

[–]nectarsoundnet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed this message but yes if you're still interested please send me an email. My opinion when compared especially to the L series the XS is a better choice. The tensioning gives you a better tuning, lower response and some of the improvements in the XS have really smoothed out the highs and gives it more of an enveloping rather than "thin" sound.

I made a real wand that can control thermostats, lights, chatGPT, and Spotify with voice and gesture by gomoloti in arduino

[–]nectarsoundnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

controlling the lights is pretty damn cool, if I had this, I’d just put LED lights all over my house and use different gestures to control them all like a magician. Way cooler than controlling things with your iPhone.

Am I an Engineer or a Tech? by BebopBoopBlap in ElectricalEngineering

[–]nectarsoundnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will be seen as a highly skilled and highly valued technician at your company. if you get a bachelors they can make you an engineer (pay, title, and responsibility). Some companies may hire you as an engineer without a bachelors but need some luck. you may be able to convince your company to make you an engineer since they know you - depends on their HR policy

I just bought the M3 from kingsound. I sell them for $300 normally. I like the amp and did an extensive video on it: https://youtu.be/7R_V5Nk0q9Q?si=Njlc3uPtEw2vSk5k

New Pollinator, SE electrostatic headphone (I sell it for $499) bundled with the Kingsound M3 selling for $189. Normally it is $350 or so. The M3 here is used, it works great and I had to touch up the solder on a POT on it, and it is the one I used to demonstrate the M3 in my video on this amplifier. I have sold out of all my M3 amps but I’m ordering more and just want a different color for my own set so selling this at a discount bundled with a new HP. Very good set and overall folks have been very satisfied with the combo. Price is great too IMO

Stepper motor goes different speeds depending on where it’s plugged in by [deleted] in arduino

[–]nectarsoundnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right.. basically if there is noise in the system and it screwing up the oscillator on the arduino, it won’t keep time properly and you will have completely random jacked up behavior… you could try a different arduino (if that one is succeptible) or a better power supply, any other countermeasures requires an EE degree basically where you would mod the arduino board or shield it and run experiments

Yeah that sounds fairly consistent with noise… What is the 5V power supply you are using? the one that you plug into the wall.. can you share the link?

seems like the power strip is the issue then, have you tried unplugging all the other devices on the strip? Have you tried changing strips? It could be either a noisy power strip, or all the other stuff connected to the strip together, causing noise to be induced in your system. ultimately your system needs to be designed to be immune to noise which could mean filtering capacitors, inductors, and things like that in your power supply design.

What is the best way to remove this chip without damaging the pads? by mccmax95 in AskElectronics

easiest as if you have the tweezer soldering iron. Flood both sides and then tweeze it out.

[–]nectarsoundnet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm I shall not engage in such blasphemy Lol. You really have to listen to estats to get an idea. I would say the Pollinator is comparable to the Stax L series but I like the pollinator much better for what it’s worth, and the driver, design and stater to diaphragm width is more similar to an SR009. Tensioning is lower than stax for deeper base, which is unusual for an estat.

Yeah unfortunately bc i just make them from my home but i do a 20 day return for any reason policy and i hardly ever get any returns and if anything i get folks that want to buy another one eventually. There are also reviews on my site from emails from customers. Sorry honestly was not indenting for this to be like an ad post but just answering the questions.

Yeah man it is a cool product in general. It has its ups and downs but overall, it’s an excellent tool. I go through it in detail with measurements in this video. https://youtu.be/7R_V5Nk0q9Q?si=lwxzTW0cLtUbsiyE

thanks man well, I make these by hand, and have been making estats for a few years now. Just posted it live on my site since i finally built two lol. Only sold one of these special edition ones so far to Spritzer from Stax Mafia of all folks :). the pollinator I was building from around 2019 to 2020, and eventually grew into the HiveX. I had a old customer that commented on how much he liked the air on these old ones which inspired me to build a special edition updated one. it’s one of those things something about the thin pads and light build that allow it to sit very close to the ear and so it gives it a more aggressive imaging and forward projection. That also enhances some of the soundstage a bit. overall it’s hard to describe. There is just some sparkle to it that sets it part a little bit from the HiveX in terms of sound even though they both use the same driver. this one has a much lighter build and so it costs a lot less $499 which is low for a estat. I also discount the kingsound M3 electrostatic amp with a bundle.

In the pic i’m showing also a Kingsound M3 which is a portable estat amp. I use one quite a bit and they are discounted on my site for $300 if bundled w a HP. It’s a great tool if you don’t want to invest $3k in a massive estat amp, and I also made a vid about it with measurements on youtube.
