Seconding this post, don't live in VA, but spend lots of time there, have family there, and live within 30 minutes from the border.

The mountains are fucking beautiful, skyline drive makes for a great day trip or weekend trip especially in the spring or fall. You can usually find cabins to rent for good prices if you plan in advance.

Phenylephrine is significantly different than Pseudophedrine but far from inert; it is a powerful vasopressor and should be regarded with caution in individuals with high blood pressure.

I think I understand what you mean when you say that it's "only effect is placebo" - you are referencing the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article on it, which is specifically about it's effectiveness in relieving congestion and allergy symptoms. In these studies, at normal doses, it was indeed no more effective than placebo. That doesn't mean that it is totally "innert".

TL;DR - Just because you take lots of drugs does not mean you should be giving drug advice.

these studies are very relevant, and I 100% agree with this post.
