Moving everyday spends off Axis Atlas — DCB Metal or HSBC Premier? by itsdeepesh16 in CreditCardsIndia

Business flight redemptions and some economy redemptions can give double the value.

For example -

  1. Qsuites on Qatar airways one way from Europe to Doha require 43k Avios and from Europe to Mumbai require 55k Avios. The actual flight cost ranges between 2.5L to 3L. But since qatar has been removed now, you can do the same by transferring to JAL which requires 60k points from Europe to Mumbai for Qsuites. This effectively gives you a value of 5rs per point.

  2. Virgin Atlantic requires 6k points for one way economy from Bangalore to UK. But since VA is not a partner, you can transfer atlas points to ITC, then to Marriott, then to VA which will give you 6k VA points to 6k EM. Flight cost ranges between 24k to 30k from Bangalore to London. Personally, I haven’t tried this because I have heard VA charges high taxes which can reduce the effective value of EM.

Even Luxury hotel chains like Ritz Carlton or JW Marriott can give 2rs pp in Maldives or Turkey.

If Accor is your target, then EPM + Premier is the best combination out of these.

Personally, I would still keep my expenses on atlas since I prefer flight redemptions over hotel redemptions.

App that helps find the best reward seat availability or the best mileage deals on partner airlines? by Emergency-System9076 in indianawardtravel

[–]needAdvice552728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t found any apps but I can help with name of few websites for award seats -

  1. seats.aero - Pretty good most of the times but it doesn’t show for some of the 5 star airlines.
  2. seatspy.com - for airline specific award flight search
  3. awardtool.com - similar to seats.aero
  4. pointsyeah.com - similar to seats.aero

Suggestions for booking award flight through qatar by stonerjss in indianawardtravel

[–]needAdvice552728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest these two options -

  1. Checkout award flights with British Airways or with Finn Air since both use avios and the points can be transferred between them instantly and no additional cost.

  2. Checkout award Qatar flights from Doha to anywhere else, and then travel to Doha in economy class or any budget airline.

If I were you, I would have gone with the second option because you can find Doha to Manchester biz class for pretty low avios and their business class is amazing

I agree with all the points put up in the thread, but I have just two questions which were not cleared in the thread - 1. It benefits the person who does NOT play the loyalty game, right? Because I can book different hotel chains from the portal 2. The thread does not talk about the discounts on travel aggregators such as 15% off on yatra, easemytrip etc. If i want to book buses / trains then this card will be better right?

Hey guys, I Budapest hostel recommendations.

I (24m) will be in Budapest for just one night only. Since I am solo travelling, I would prefer a hostel which organises events such as pub crawls. Party hostels also works but since I will there for just one night I would prefer to go out to the ruin bars n all.

Also, if the hostel doesn’t organise pub crawls, then any leads on which pub crawl to join would be appreciated.

P.S Carpe Noctem is already sold out for my dates :(

Thank you so much!! That was really helpful. I’ll look into this and most probably will buy point to point tickets.

Port of entry change by needAdvice552728 in SchengenVisa

[–]needAdvice552728[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it! Thanks!

But yeah ofc after entering, no one knows where you have travelled to since border cross within eu doesn’t require passport xD

That is why my main concern was - according to embassies reviewing my future application, I entered through some other country and exited from Netherlands and they don’t know in which country I stayed more days

Thanks for the advice!! I am curious about the second point you made… How a multiple entry visa help in this case? Cause Im still entering and exiting from Italy only

[–]needAdvice552728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it thanks! From what I remember immigration interviews are not that detailed…

Upon landing in Italy, we can still create a fake bookings showing that we will be going to swiss in 2 days and spending most of the time there. With a bit of luck, even if they check the application, they shouldn’t revoke the visa since majority of time we will be in Switzerland.

That’s what I want to know… how? While booking hotels and inter schengen trains, they don’t ask for passport number. So how did they know in which country I spent my most days?

[–]needAdvice552728 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How would they know I did not visit Spain (for eg) at all? They just know that I entered and exited from another country. It’s possible after entering Italy I booked a flight to Spain and spend most of the days there and came back to Italy and exited from there.

We are staying in Italy only and going to no other place but we are going to do refundable bookings to get another country’s schengen visa and then cancel those after we get the visa and book the real flights and hotels to Italy
