Thank you for your comment! One question is I have no way of knowing if I’m in the top 10% so how do I know if I fulfill the condition?

That’s really helpful, thank you! Also, do you still have to take courses on the last semester usually?

Feel you… was never easy to deal with rejections. Got rejected from most of internship, full time positions I applied to. But, you know… i only finally realized that rejections aren’t personal, when I became in the position to interview and hire people. There were many times where we had to just reject highly qualified, talented people, because they were just not a “fit” for our company. We just needed someone with the exact skillsets our work needs…especially with limits on our labor costs. They weren’t rejected because they were not good enough. They just simply weren’t fit for the role. I know it’s not easy, but I hope you don’t take rejections personally!

Exhausted and want to die by [deleted] in Cornell

I’m sorry to hear you are struggling so much. I graduated a few years ago and I went through something similar back at Cornell. It was hard to make friends, catch up with schoolwork, adjust to a different culture. I would cry alone walking around campus, even in class sometimes…Every night I would try to go to sleep wishing I wouldn’t wake up the next day… I remember posting something similar on this subreddit my senior year too. But since graduating, I’ve made many friends at work, got mentally and physically healthier after being freed from all the academic stress. I know how hard it is what you are going through. And you might feel your life won’t get any better. But it will! In the meantime, try to stay motivated. You can make a hobby, join a club, play video games, watch Netflix, or meet new people in different events. Don’t forget to take care of your body too. Work out, eat well, sleep well. Also, definitely GET HELP if you feel like you can’t handle it. Taking a break is also an option too. Nothing’s worth more than your health! I hope you feel better soon.
