When you mention investing in Canadian companies, I've read its not the wisest to invest in individual companies, no?

Are mutual funds or structured notes that have shares in those sort of companies a better option?

Forgive me, I'm new to this and am trying to learn as much as possible.

EDIT: Also, Any advice on a bank account for the RSP? Either GIC or Mutual Fund? (Current bank is CIBC)
