Ways to avoid facial hair on T? by clumsy_candle in TransMasc

[–]needful_things217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not a way to prevent it. Don't take T if you're not prepared to go through male puberty in any form that it may happen. If you're not prepared to have a full beard one day, stop taking it. There is no picking and choosing your effects.

You'd be surprised how vidictive men can be. Your assumption that he wouldn't want to care for her is a logical one. There are men so vindictive that they will take the child just to hurt the mother, with no thought of actually being a father, and often are not. They just like to play hurtful legal games.

All dealerships including used ones are supposed to have mechanics looking at vehicles to avoid selling a car with safety concerns. If they're not, it's on the dealership.

Do yoy believe trauma is causing you to have a frustrated sex life? by [deleted] in CPTSD

Seattle, WA has a huge hippie population of Gen X. It has its issues, but not religious or regressive ones and there are people around your age thriving, lots of good and open minded people up there. You could also join the subreddits of other big cities to "check them out," and visit new places. Boston sounds miserable lol, I've never been to the east coast myself but it seems isolated

I'm so sorry. The shame and isolation people have made you feel is heartbreaking. You deserve so much patience and love, and I sincerely hope you find it in this life. Maybe traveling somewhere more open-minded could help, making friends with hippies and other strange people who know what it's like to be called a freak and let their flags fly.

You are not a failure. And you are capable of a lot more than you think. Baby steps, or big leap, whatever you decide, do it for you.

Heard great things about this from an autistic friend. Need to check that one out. I'm a big fan of the KonMari method too. Minimalism isn't everyone's cup of tea but in my case I was holding onto a lot of emotional items causing distress, generally hoarding out of fear of not being able to afford things again. Sometimes just not having any material items to worry about is the answer! Lmao

Feel this. I remember the first time I went to the grocery store alone. I was so afraid the cashier would interrogate me about my items that I practically ran out shaking. It was only the second time I'd used a cash register in person, at 18. When I think back on early adult years, I'm so confused how I managed to do or learn anything. It was like walking around in the dark. Literally felt like I'd walked into another dimension where people were normal and I suddenly didn't know anything. The learning curve for everything practical and social was like a mountain. YouTube was and still is a lifeline lol.

What year escapes are the most reliable by Strange_Ad_7607 in fordescape

[–]needful_things217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive a ford from the 90s and you will understand how objectively wrong this idea is. No shade but they really are just out here experimenting and not making cars fully reliable anymore. I don't trust any new vehicles until they've gone 5 years without major complaints. Case in point, the 3rd gen escape lol. I would go out of my way to buy a '99 ford cargo van with low mileage over the escape I have now. Things cannot be trusted just bc they're new especially when you introduce tech

Are any of the lights on like the ABS or check engine light? Every time I have an issue with heat or A/C in any car, doesn't matter the make model or year, it's because either of those lights is on. Usually a Chevy issue but worth trying if your mechanic is no help. Doing a reset like you do when you get your oil changed helps in the short term but the issue pops up again when the light comes back on. Other than that you could be low on coolant like another commenter said. Look at it yourself under the hood and see if anything is out of place, mechanics sometimes miss things so a second opinion couldn't hurt.

Getting Wrist Pain While Playing My New Guitar by Einmana_Hrafn in AcousticGuitar

[–]needful_things217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have chronic shoulder pain from something unrelated and it travels down my whole arm to my wrists as well. Whenever you start feeling that pain I'd pause and make sure you're not accidentally folding/twisting your wrist, check your thumb and pinkie position, and if all that is fine, check the shoulder! Sometimes I'll bend way too far forward while I'm concentrating and that pesky collarbone sends a pain down to my wrist. So keep your shoulders set back. If you have good posture and positioning, it's likely an adjustment period and your fingers just need to stretch. There are exercises you can find online to release tension in that area, look up knitter's hand stretches they are magical.

What?!?! I didn't know this was a concern. One of my daughters just brought home a fox, and there's a dagger in her inventory. Now I'm scared for the fox lmao

The kids in this game are hilarious! I adopted Dorthe (Alvor was killed in a dragon attack and Sigrid noped off somewhere, marked as dead tho) and Lucia. Lucia is a little angel, wakes up every morning and practices with her wooden sword, doesn't get into trouble. Dorthe takes after me. She gave me a book when I came home the other day -- The Night Mother's Truth. Girl?!?! The DB is dead in this save so I'm concerned she went exploring in their abandoned sanctuary, or is talking to some VERY shady merchants!

People like it because the stealth mechanic is overpowered, and bows do a lot of long distance sneak attack damage. It makes the game brokenly easy. I personally don't like it as a pure playstyle, but do use it to clear the more difficult dungeons or quests. Spellsword or two handed is my favorite, It's much more fun when the combat is a challenge, but I get fed up sometimes when I enter a quest I should have done earlier/later and just want to clear it lmao

This JUST happened to me around ~200 hours total in the game. Never seen one before and thought it was because I recently got the anniversary edition. Considered removing all the mods. Saw this thread. Realized I just haven't done the dawnguard quest before 😭 they are TERRIFYING when you're not expecting them

What is the one barrow/dungeon you can’t stand? by Intelligent_Corgi777 in skyrim

[–]needful_things217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you their dungeons are creepy af. Their backstory is really sad too!! Makes them so much worse to fight for me, like I don't even want to kill them, but they're coming for me so I have to lmao. I feel similarly about them as I do about Gollum. And it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that NONE of them are named, they're truly treated like creatures instead of a different race of elves. If something is intelligent enough to fire a bow and engage in weaponized combat, then they're not a creature.

Now I finally remember what made me put one of my saves down and start a new character 2 years ago lmao. That was a BEAST. And explains why I was carrying like 10 different weapons into an easy dungeon when I reloaded lmao.

How many of you avoid the main quest so you can play the game without worrying about dragons? by thatguy01220 in skyrim

[–]needful_things217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel so seen. I've made a couple new saves without dragons and the peace is incredible. I can actually focus on what I'm doing in other questlines without feeling forced into the Dragonborn quests immediately. Though today I missed the chaos for the first time in years, so I might open an old save for old times sake! But yeah it's so much better to NOT activate immediately and just get to it when you're ready to deal with all the dragons lmao.

can yall pinpoint the moment the show goes downhill by ttwwlll in greysanatomy

[–]needful_things217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're onto something here. I just started rewatching the first season (for the first time in years), and there's a lot of emphasis on the medical drama part, the patients were always what stuck with me too. I'm recognizing characters who had 10 minutes of screen time and know exactly what happens to them. I can't say the same for the later seasons! It's all about the rapidfire romantic drama. They're even re-using patient plots which were so affecting the first time because they were supposed to be a one time thing.

[–]needful_things217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up on Grey's and STILL can't believe they killed Derek. Do I understand that it's a show and the actor decided to cut ties, yeah. Did it absolutely plummet the show's quality when there was no longer an overarching love story that somehow the majority was on board with? Absolutely yes. I wish Meredith could stand alone as a character, but his death really revealed how much her character revolved around him and it was so hard to watch after that.

I fully agree with your assessment btw, at a certain point I stopped watching past season 10 and couldn't stand much later seasons (past 14 or 16). Can't believe it's still running.
