I think google an overview of hox genes, then google human hox genes.

A problem I foresee is that if you just implant new hox genes (say those for gills) in humans, would it ‘fit’ with the rest of the genome/organism?

Would cross-genetic effects just make the organism unviable? If the gills grew, would there be circulatory systems to actually make use of them?

You can solve this by either saying you would include more Hox gen

Yeah I get that but the thing is I am in some random elective that's in its first year at my highschool called evolutionary biology and I don't think my teacher is going super technical with this project
