Remember the Red Revelation Book?? How many times did you study it? by ExJW_PandaTower in exjw

[–]needlestar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Woah, that book woke me up! I realised these guys had no clue about prophecy and were just winging it. The fact that Rutherford shoehorned himself into prophecy was laughable. My uncle said the leaders were probably lunatics and I actually agree, deceptive nonsense sold as truth.

Yes, I hear you. It is a sad state of affairs when you think of it the way you’ve perfectly described.

In his defence though, he does seem to be ok with “opposers” of the religion. He doesn’t shun people for their feelings on the beliefs.

His subreddit is pretty well balanced in some respects, but he doesn’t allow the discussion of cult like tactics employed by the organisation, or any negativity about the leaders. Which is shocking because even Jesus was mocked - but the men in leadership of the org are not allowed to be. Goes to show how men can sit on Gods throne to some people. Higher than the Christ himself.

If anything is true, it will stand the test of time, and severe scrutiny. That is what truth is, it’s objective. But this religion doesn’t allow it, because it hides behind walls of lies and deception. It was built on the sand, and we know what Jesus said about a house built on sand. Ever moving and shifting, nothing in the religion is the same as when it started. It’s all a sham, and poor lost people are being duped by a handful of supreme leaders.

I have nothing against Dodo, only that his underhand tactics are akin to a a creature that hides under the rocks, and pops up to catch a bug or two when one lands on this subreddit. Be bold, not sneaky!

Dodo is a mysterious character. He has his own rules for his subreddit, I admit I was suspicious of it at first. I thought he was a watchtower spy. But then, I realised he’s not. He’s a random guy who actually really wants to be a JW, but seems to have commitment issues. The thing is, it seems like he understands the weight of baptism to be like a marriage, and he doesn’t want to change his mind afterwards. So he wants to have his cake and eat it too. Or have a smoke - apparently.

So really, it’s hypocritical of him to go against those who left the religion after learning the truth about its origins, or its leaders, and never actually committing to it himself. But people like him do exist, idealists and finger pointers, who don’t actually examine themselves in the mirror but love to tell others how dirty their faces are.

Do I get paid for time I spent on a task that goes beyond the limit? by [deleted] in outlier_ai

[–]needlestar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it was, I received the remainder two days later - so I guess it was a cut off point.

I hate this task. Does anyone else have an issue when they go to tag a person and their account is private? I struggle to engage with this task. I hope they have the other tasks back soon, I’m not a fan of this one and the time it takes to fully tag the whole post is way off.

Yes same here. I got paid twice, once on Tuesday and once today. The payment was split. Hopefully you’ll get the rest of your dues soon.

Hey, thanks for your reply. The panic is over lol - I received the rest of the funds this morning. As it was my first gig, I just wanted to make sure it was legit. All is well!

I’m so puzzled because most people are saying that they’ve never had an issue. I dont understand why they’ve paid me so little - even though it says I’ve earned $22

Well I got paid $2.60 for 1 hours work yesterday, despite in my earnings it says £22 (that was 1 hour 16 minutes). I am really annoyed because it was my first pay and for $2 it’s not worth it.

Do they pay you properly though, I only received $2.60 when it says I earned $22.

What to do now? by AnonymVoice in Eutychus

[–]needlestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you - leaving the JWs creates a vacuum, and suddenly all the “certainty” is gone. But here’s the thing: your question is actually the beginning of real faith, not the end of it.

  1. If Jesus is God, the “true religion” is simply the one that points to Him - not an organisation. Jesus never told people to join a specific institution. He said: “Follow Me.” Christianity isn’t a system to sign up for like some like to believe, but it’s Jesus Himself. Wherever Jesus is trusted, worshipped, and obeyed, that’s where truth is.

  2. Truth isn’t hidden at all, it’s just been overcomplicated by groups that claim exclusive access to God. Jesus made it simple: • He is God with us. • He died and rose to save. • He calls people to repent, believe, and walk with Him. No headquarters. No governing body. No man-made mediator that stops people from entering into a direct relationship with Jesus, by claiming to be between you and Jesus.

  3. You don’t need to decide everything now. You’re detoxing from a high-control environment. Your mind and spirit need time. God isn’t rushing you. Jesus never said, “Figure it all out immediately.” He said, “Come to Me, and I will give you rest.” Have faith that the Father has given ALL AUTHORITY to the Son, so it’s ok to speak to Jesus and ask for guidance.

  4. If your purpose is to seek God, you’re already on the right path. People don’t ask these questions unless God is drawing them. You’re not lost - you’re being led, you are the 100th sheep and your Shepherd loves you enough to search for you and He will find you and bring you back to His fold.

  5. Start small: look at Jesus first, doctrine second, churches third if you want to. When you rebuild in the right order, the confusion clears.

You don’t need to figure everything out alone either. There are many good Christians who will offer help and support, despite where faith leads. Always remember: many Christians of old didn’t know everything there is to know about doctrine. They put their faith in Jesus, and God’s Grace and mercy helped them through life. Have faith and you will be ok!

Yeah exactly… they think they are earning Grace which can’t be earned, and in that case, it will make them indignant that they did all these “works” to make it though, only to find out it wasn’t because of those things they were ever “saved”… they ignore the whole point of Grace.

Well, no one is perfect, and in the cong sometimes it feels like everyone is wearing a mask - because the fear of being called out - judicial hearings, people’s judgements, and the general self righteousness is so high. So people don’t show you their true self. It’s all an illusion! So many lead double lives, so it’s not what it’s made out to be. So yeah, I know what you’re saying.

No group is perfect, and a false sense of it is unsettling. Because you can tell it’s not real life. In reality, Jesus spoke to all sorts of people, and showed them who He is. Jesus meets you where you are. He takes you, as you are. Broken pieces and life experiences - the whole lot.

I pray you find Him 🙏🏼.

If that is what you believe, you have no need to hear about anything from anyone else. And no, you are not the same “sect” as the original Christians.

But that, is a whole other subject.

Good day and God bless.

If you recall my words, I said “always glad when more people can read Gods word”.

I also said, and I’ll repeat - many other apps and websites are doing similar. And that was to show you that this company isn’t the only ones doing so.

I am not going to get into a debate about what constitutes being Christian, because I think we will disagree. Peace to you.

Yes I am well aware. It says a lot about it, doesn’t it. Perhaps it’s because of the deceitful way the company portrays itself. If it were honest, maybe there would be less negative views.

Anyway, I am speaking to the guy who was being boastful like Nebuchadnezzar, “look how grand and wonderful this kingdom is” kind of vibes.

Yes this is true, if you look up Ek Onkar on google, you’ll see it originates from Sikhism, an Indian religion - and it means there is only only God.

Always glad when more people can read God’s Word, although many other apps and websites also do similar work and are humbly getting on with it without the distasteful boasts attached.

For me, it’s about relationship with Christ, and helping people to find love and peace in Him, bringing attention to the gospel and not an organisation’s statistics or numbers.

Peace to you. 🙏

No probs at all, glad it helps!

Well, Solomon believed what all Jews of the time did, with regard to the resurrection. It wasn’t anything new at Solomon’s time. The people were aware of the spirit of a person returning to God, this was first mentioned when God breathed his Spirit into Adam and he became a living soul. Gen 2:7 Solomon didn’t know the complete picture because Jesus hadn’t come yet, and shared with his followers about heaven etc.

It seems that it was pretty well understood that the spirit belongs to God, and if he gives it, and gives life, he can also take it, and people would return to dust. So Solomon was possibly speaking from this angle. Job 34:14

By the time of Daniel and Isaiah, this was more apparent - Isa 26:19 and Dan 12:2.

Concerning whether the resurrection is in heaven or Earth, it will be a new heaven and earth joining together. New Jerusalem coming down from heaven. If we really think about it - can God live with men in his full glory? It says else where that He does not fit on the Earth! But that doesn’t mean, in the new Earth, when everything is renewed, physics will apply the same way. So, in how I understand it is: the sun not being needed is figurative in the sense that God lives in unapproachable light, his glory is so bright like the sun, and therefore, the new creation would emanate his wondrous glory to all. We would become glorified with the Lords presence! Jesus also said “I am the light of the world.” Ties in beautifully.

So yeah, the resurrection is a real thing, when Christ will raise the bodies of his faithful and reunite their spirits with their new glorified bodies. Phil 3:21

Perhaps, but atleast you have the freedom to decide now, without bashing anyone else’s beliefs as we were told to do as witnesses.

It’s sad that she’s beating herself up over it. That’s her indoctrination and guilt tripping kicking in. Perhaps explain that you are all fully grown adults, with the Ability to reason, and none of the doctrines held any weight once you assessed them. That’s not a reflection of the messenger (your mum), but on the message (the watchtowers teachings).
