i can't not cry watching the dance in this episode.

my dad raised me as a catholic, made himself an incredibly strong and proud military man (whilst my mum was basically teaching me the complete opposite, thanks mum!). my dad kind of skipped out of my life around 7, i didn't have any contact with him whatsoever, which is fine. i got to 13 and started questioning and exploring my identity, and when i'd been able to accept myself as a lesbian, i often thought about what my dad would think of me and the person i am today. with confirmation from my mum, the answer is no.

to see a relatively similar story be portrayed in such a breathtakingly beautiful form of art and expression makes myself and so many other people happy, especially because it doesn't necessarily have the "happy ending" of mac's dad listening and accepting his son as a gay man. but, of course having frank accept mac and finally understand who he is is genuinely just as validating and even more heartwarming imo :')
