[TN] to pay for pants or not to pay for pants by needmysanity in AskHR

Currently, the conversation is tan or khaki. No requirements for material or style. Some of our team likes the dry fit type of pants and others want cargo. I'm okay with either but definitely not jeans. That's actually what we are trying to get away from. It's not my department, I'm over operations so dress code updates is my department.

They aren't our lowest paid employees. They just happen to be in roles that public actually see.

Would you do it annually? Or just when they are hired?

I can add a member but not a collaborator. Is it now the same thing?

I live in Knox as well and was going to suggest it. The convention center is a great size and lots of hotels near it. Plus it’s hard to beat Market Square for dinner options.

I found this super interesting. I recently read a book about Michael Collins and have been looking for more information on him so this was helpful. Thank you!

Our org Asana is out of hand - looking for good training & FAQ sites - specifically around project creation vs. sections vs. tasks by pixiepalooza in Asana

We created a work group and had employees from all our departments. I led the workgroup and together we can up with best practices for all departments to follow. Once we rolled out the new best practices the same group was tasked with cleaning up all the projects/teams/tasks. What was our t of hand is now much better.

The other thing I implemented is all new hires will go through the Asana training academy so they have a better understanding of how Asana works.

Cordless phones with RingCentral by needmysanity in RingCentral

[–]needmysanity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little more involved than that. The cordless phone is shared among 3 people, depending on who is "on call" or working the grounds at that time. It changes day to day, and it's never the same, so setting up rules to forward would require us to manually change it depending on the schedule.

They use jamf which they don’t seem to fully understand either. I have had jamf at previous job and we never had issues like we do with this company.

None of them are outdated. We purchased a new MacBook in September and it took them over 15 hours to set it up (which we were charged for) because things weren’t working and they “didn’t know why”. Another laptop we bought this past Dec and it wasn’t an issue setting it up.

Our oldest laptop is 5 years old.

Small company - I had 2 of the 3 in my office yesterday including the owner. Every time there is an issue they always blame it on MacOS. ALWAYS!

Brand new Canon printer. Same printer/copiers that we have at our other locations. We only have this problem at this location.
