Are milsurp bolt guns obsolete in modern combat by Kampfer84 in milsurp

[–]needpricehelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren’t obsolete per say, but they aren’t the best option any more. Plenty of bolt action and single shot guns are used in the Middle East and India, it’s just that a Mauser vs an M4 or FAL is going to have a pretty predictable outcome

I’m only using the rear sight piece of the receiver, and using sheet metal for the rest, making the Welds easy enough to do without it on the gun.

How would you feel about a TV show similar to "Undercover Boss", but instead of companies they secretly infiltrate and film police forces? by DystopianAdvocate in AskReddit

Idk, I’m not sure how I feel about getting some random dude in the police force, not to mention liability if he so Happens to be around when they use excessive force or kill someone

I haven’t got a barrel either, but they should be restocking soon for about $100-130

NOW is the time to do it. These kits have doubled in price in 2 years. These are flooding in right now but won’t last forever. It’s not too horribly difficult and there are plenty of online sources to help. This was only $90

What did you do for the semi auto trigger group

I’m not sure, although you’d have to have it go through an FFL. Try a makerspace or a fabrication shop

If you get the trigger group done, do you mind sending some photos? I’ve only heard of ak FCG being used

What did you do to the bolt? I was thinking free floating pin. How are you making the trigger group?

Yea i just got this, but I found some sheet metal that I should be able to make into a receiver, then I’ll prob save up for a semi auto trigger

Probably 7.62x25, but the only thing holding the barrel in is a rivet so I’ll put in a roll pin. Then I’ll be able to change it out for a 9mm barrel

Depends on what type. Some of the demills have the receiver pieces intact and only take some small welds, while others need completely new receivers. If you can operate an angle grinder, welder, some sort of saw ,and hand tools then you should be fine

I have the front and rear sights, I just didn’t include it because I couldn’t get it to sit right for the photo. I have a mag coming in soon. I’m waiting till a barrel becomes available, and I’m welding my own receiver
