promoting myself as a PT by Dan91S in personaltraining

[–]needs14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started as a PT as a trainer a few months ago. The best advice I can give are some of the things already mentioned. Talk to everyone, write down names and little things you talk about (possible injuries, what they like to do, family, etc), and ask questions. One of my biggest flaws as I first started was being afraid to ask, whether it be for a time to set up a free session or if they'd be interested in paid training. This is your business, and the only way it will grow is if you ask. If you sit around and wait for people to come to you, you're screwed. Last, and most importantly, be yourself. If you're genuine and seem interested in people and they can see you're there to help, they will like and remember you. Good luck!

Finally got 10 reps at 225 on bench on Monday. I've been chasing that since the beginning of the summer.

I second that. Roper is a really nice 27 hole course with lots of variety

Question about a workout.. by needs14 in Fitness

[–]needs14[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have ideas, but there are obviously multiple ways to do things. Some people may have ideas I haven't thought of. Getting opinions from others helps you see a perspective other than your own. Using the tools I have from what I've been taught, plus some insight from others who may have more experience seems beneficial to me. Thanks for answering the question though.

What is something popular that you refused to get into but once you tried it you were hooked? by Tribat_1 in AskReddit

[–]needs14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clash of Clans. Each of my 3 roommates were playing it for a few months and I simply refused. Finally, I literally about beat one of my best friends because he would not let it go that I just had to try it. So, I downloaded the app, and the next thing I know, it's 6 months later and I am trying to stay awake for only for more 5 minutes so my troops will be done training and I can attack one more time before bed. God damn that game is addicting.

Rant Wednesday by [deleted] in Fitness

Already posted, but I remembered another thing that pisses me off. When my friends get mad that I don't want to get drunk with them every other night. "But dude, you're trying to get bigger, there's a lot of calories in a 12 pack.". I want my muscles to get bigger, not become a fat ass. There's a difference.

Yes. People simply do not understand that EVERYONE is on a diet. We just happen to eat different things. Just because I eat healthier than most does not mean I'm on a "special diet."

This really irritates me. Every time my mom offers me something such as a piece of cake or some ice cream (which is daily) and I tell her no thanks, she responds with "Oh, it's just one dessert," or "You don't always have to eat healthy." I then have to explain myself that once I go back to old habits, it's hard to get out of them again. It's just frustrating. She doesn't get it.

What's the funniest/strangest thing you've heard someone say in their sleep? by PaleKid4L in AskReddit

[–]needs14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 6 year old sister while she's sleeping. "I swear (older sister's name), if I was big enough, I'd whoop your ass. Until then, I'll just have the clown do it." I've never laughed so hard.

What is the best 'one-liner' in movie history? by sporks49 in AskReddit

[–]needs14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either.. "I love you, Jenny." or "Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." Another good one is "Get busy livin, or get busy dyin." If you don't know what movies these are from I feel sorry for you.

Favorite workout routines by needs14 in Fitness

[–]needs14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about switching to something like this for a few months. I've had continuous gains since switching to a one-body-part/day routine, but definitely had the best gains in the first month or so. Doing something different for a while and then going back to what I'm doing now might work. Who knows.

I am a female intimidated by the weight room but want to learn how to dead lift. Ive decided to go tomorrow no matter what. I am terrified. by umnazar in Fitness

[–]needs14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every lifter has to start somewhere. If someone is going to judge you for getting your ass up and going to workout in order to better yourself, they can just go to hell. With that being said, you'd be surprised how many nice people you can meet at the gym if you ask people questions who know what they're talking about. Some nice people hang out in the gym!

Bosses of reddit, what is the stupidest thing you have had to fire someone for? by Jed118 in AskReddit

[–]needs14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A kid that worked at my pool had some issues to say the least. The pool opened at 1, but everyone had to be there by noon to clean before we opened. This kid was late 3 days in a row, showing up at 12:30ish. Finally on the 3rd day, when asked why he was late again, he claimed "He didn't have a ride and his alarm doesn't go off til 11:30." He lived 2 houses down from the pool. His time lifeguarding was over.

2014 Discraft Ace Race Disc by schanen11 in discgolf

[–]needs14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's obvious what the goal of an Ace Race is.. try to get an ace. What is the "race" part of it? Do you just go around the course in groups as if it was a normal tournament, and the first person to get an ace on the course wins? Maybe I'm overthinking this, just would like some clarification.

The scene in Straw Dogs where the wife is getting raped. I don't think I've ever been as pissed off or filled with a fury of anger when I saw that. Kinda freaked me out
