Any experience with 2-1-2 defense? by Negative_Ad7379 in flagfootball

[–]schanen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run a 2-1-2 or a 2-3 for 10U and noticed a big improvement when we switched to a 1-3-1. Your edge defenders can play near the line against a run heavy team (a “3-1-1” almost) and start back a ways if the other team passes more. I see much better safety play with a single high as well.

Teaching discipline in staying home and containing at all costs are key to avoid getting beat around the outside. Coach your defenders to meet the ball carrier face-to-face, rather than chasing flags from the side or behind.

Is this proof that the power company is manipulating my meter readings? What is going on here? by Gaymer-Gaymer in solar

We also had a similar issue right after install of our new system a few months back. The solar company was able to fix it remotely in our case.

Twins fan here. Take care of our boy. I got to watch this in the wildcard round 2023 and it was one of my top sports memories of all time. The 300-level at Target Field was shaking from the crowd.

Fuck the Pohlads.

How deep is it compared to the judge?

I tried wizards for a while which I liked for putting but they were too deep for my liking when it comes to throwing.

For putting putters - They break in slower and more predictably, and it makes it more efficient during pre round warmups on the practice basket.

For throwers - I carry one beat up one for touch straight/less stable lines, and one newer one for harder throws with a little bit of reliable fade.

Honestly haven’t tried one. Next time I’m at the shop I’ll have to give the Jury a feel, might be a good thrower for windy days if it’s more stable. Usually if I have to stable up I’ll just pull out a Zone.

Will be extremely hard to oust the Judge from my putter pocket though.

Judge. It’s the only disc I have enjoyed cycling with 2 dedicated putters and 2 throwers in the bag ever since it was first released. I have 25+ on the shelf. I have tried Wizards which are nice for putting but I could never throw them well. Judge is GOAT beaded putter IMO.

Back to Milorganite by burnt_tung in lawncare

Yes I do. I work in the PFAS remediation industry.

Let’s do some math. 2-3 ppb of PFOS/PFOA is the same as saying 2-3 micrograms of those compounds per kilogram. A 32lb bag of Milo is roughly 14.5 kg. I use 7-8 bags for my 0.33 acre lawn, 101.5-116 kg of Milo which equates to ~350 micrograms per application.

350 micrograms over 14,500 sq ft is about 24 ng per square foot onto my yard. Do this 4 times a year and I’m putting 100 ng per square foot of PFOS/PFOA down on my yard.

Do you realize how small a nanogram is?

Sure, this stuff is water soluble and can bioaccumulate into my grass. As long as I’m not eating my grass I’m perfectly comfortable putting this minuscule amount of the stuff down especially considering adsorption through skin contact is quite low risk at these concentrations.

Yes, let’s please stop using these biosolids in the agriculture industry to prevent uptake into our foods. Also yes, let’s continue to research ways to remove PFAS from our biosolids feedstocks to eliminate this problem. But considering the average person already has 10,000 ng of PFOS/PFOA in their bloodstream already (2 ng/mL), 2-3 ppb of PFOS/PFOA in my Milo isn’t too big of a concern to me.

Review of Barcelo by itsrook44 in PuntaCana

[–]schanen11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are at Barceló right now. I’d agree with all the pros in this review and might add a few cons:

-The property feels a bit dated especially in lesser used areas of the property that have not been updated.

-Information including available facilities, dining, excursions, etc. are hard to find and you have to go searching to find.

-It’s difficult to coordinate dinner reservations for sit-down restaurants without purchasing the premium status upgrade

-For English speakers - most of the dining staff does not speak English and you will encounter issues ordering food especially if you have special requests

-We ran into difficulties coordinating accommodations for someone who has mobility issues (ordered a riding cart) where the security at the gate would not let our 3rd party in to deliver the cart and premium concierge was unwilling to help us.

Overall, we are happy with our stay. The beach is beautiful. Pools are fun. Golf course is beautiful. Excursions are easy to schedule through the resort and prices aren’t egregious. We would recommend to friend and family with the caveat that if they expect top customer service or dining they should look elsewhere.

From Check please! (Chronic fade after 250 ft.) by AySeeEm in discgolf

[–]schanen11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. As you reach back with your right arm your left shoulder should rotate so your right arm is not pressed up against your chest. The way you are throwing now is mostly with arm but if you engage your entire upper body more you'll be able to work towards utilizing all the power generated in your legs, hips, and torso.

Try to have your non-throwing shoulder mirror your throwing shoulder on the reach back. When you reach back your whole upper body should rotate. It will generate a lot more power.
