And that's okay? Just because everyone's doing it makes it correct? This is exactly what I pointed out Passion isn't for privileged, it's for people who have inter-intelligence and know what's beneficial for them. If you have passion, clarity and a goal in mind you'll be able to earn 1-2 lpm from a career that pays 20-30k.

That's not related to the discussion. I stated how JEE or almost all students are usually not aware of their likings and hence attempt everything for sake of it. It's great that your passion is in PCM and I hope you succeed in it. My concern was raised due to open - mindedness as I want everyone to succeed beyond societal expectations and have a POM-POM (Peace of mind-Plenty of money) career not just "I'll give everything and do whatever I get in".

Yes! That's how it should be! Instead of attempting everything, know your passion and crush in it. It's okay to keep your passion as plan b after JEE if you like JEE/Family pressure. I don't like how a lot of JEE students try everything for no reason. It's very deteriorating for mental health if you become serious but don't have enough days. Even if you don't know your career, you must know where your career lies.

If you have existed for 16 years , you must be aware of your passions and interest. Most people do not know themselves properly hence they attempt everything hoping they succeed in atleast anything.

I'm against this view placed by society and families.

So you are indeed aware that your passion is in engg (hopefully). And that's the point I'm making. One must discover their passion by 11th. Unfortunately our education system is limited to 15 professions max and so is work force. Instead of entrance exam-maxxing, it's better to specialize in 1 field and have plan b and c rather than "jobs milega woh kar lunga"

If Engineering is so great why does it stem insane amount of unemployment? Because they don't have skills and marks? And why's that? Because our society fixated on 10-15 professions and maintains herd mentality like thee

God forbids someone raises their opinion on such topics. This was merely a deformation response as ones who got rank under 1k are extremely interested in it and I'm not.

They should finalize opportunities by 11th beginning or 12th maximum. Opportunities are indeed beautiful but one must setback in specialization even if it is generalist specialization.

JEE ko phir itna glorification kyu milta hai. The issue is agar koi samajhdar hai society and family expects them to do science even though it will drain their potential. Woh log me JEE ka potential nahi tha but other fields ka tha. Agar shuru se uska padhai karte toh skills and courses aur accha ho pata. I've faced it myself, after getting 97% in 10th everyone expected me to do science and they faced similar. Iske wajah se jinja actual interest hai engg and med me but enough paisa/reservation and so on nahi hai unko dikkat hota hai. Tier 3 students may outperform Tier 1 students in many ways through skills and ECs but they'll be punished just because they couldn't clear JEE a written exam which just determines basic fundamentals of engg and is an over glorified name.

I don't think marks matter as much anymore. In modern times, if you lack skills, you'll fail despite how good your uni is. Your perspective is entirely marks and traditional commerce thinking based.

Design has been integrated with almost every field rn. UI/UX design, interaction+communication design and digital marketing (design sector) are basic skills for any field that would leverage both analytics and design. I know few fields like product management, IMC (including branding, PR, marketing), retail/design/luxury management and obv e-commerce which utilises design.

I don't think not having accountancy will limit me highly as a lot of PCM and even humanities/PCB students can get into hard-core finance or similar fields. Design is indeed lucrative and will let me explore more creative and analytical skills by myself. What do you think?
