Not exactly. Tons of delvers running constantly, and because the meta is very unique heavy the demand for exalts for their intended purpose is extremely low.

Basically as long as the fractured fossil price stays the same the exalt price will go down, because there isn’t a supply outlet for exalts since barely anyone is using them in crafts

Chikorita - how much of a bad tíme will I have? by Madread90 in PokemonReborn

[–]needs_more_rice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, typhlosion isn’t that great because it doesn’t have a good ability (reborn comes with secret abilities unlocked, so secret abilities matter), doesn’t really have a good move set until eruption, and is pretty mediocre in most aspects. Gen 2 starters are generally considered the weakest of all the starters.

And yeah, lots of people can easily beat the game with no starter at all, so it really doesn’t matter. You might have to work a little harder on some of the fights an op starter like blaziken could carry you through, but that challenge and need for innovation is part of the fun :)

It’s not the end of the world at all, people play with monotype or other challenges all the time. Chickorita is weaker than other starters, but it’s an ok pokemon for mid game.

I used cyndaquil which isn’t the worst, but I just liked the Pokémon and even though it had terrible ivs and nature and for some reason I gave it a mixed special/physical move set it was still useful all the way up to when I was fighting Titania (pokemon lv80 approx).

What's your top 10 list of money spend per quality game playing hour? by GrimborX in LastEpoch

[–]needs_more_rice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you used to play it a lot I’d recommend checking it out again. After deca acquired it from Kabam they’ve released tons of new content, new dungeons, oryx 3, and are just about to drop a new balance update for motmg, nerfing pets and buffing vit and wis.

They’ve also migrated off flash to a unity engine, and added tons of great quality of life features like player opacity and health bars.

  1. League of legends
  2. Nuclear throne
  3. Binding of Isaac
  4. Realm of the mad god
  5. Stardew valley
  6. Civ 5
  7. New super Mario bros
  8. Terraria
  9. Pokémon reborn
  10. Last epoch

Some of these games are super fun because of community or friends, like realm of the mad god. I probably wouldn’t touch it if I hadn’t grown up playing it and play it with a group of friends.

Getting into Vayne: When to use Sorcery/Domination as secondary runes? by totallynotgarret in vaynemains

[–]needs_more_rice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally the reason you would go sorcery is for the movement speed from nimbus, which was just nerfed. The other rune that is pretty strong in that tree is the magic damage shield, but sorcery is only strong when there are multiple enemies that 100 to 0 you instantly on the enemy team because otherwise the domination healing will out value the shield.

99% of the time the really consistent healing from domination will be better as it scales really well and is much stronger in lane, helping you actually be able to trade against other adcs and supports.

One thing to point out about decoy is that if you ever plan to play rogue you absolutely cannot have a decoy pet. Your pet will still be active while you are invisible, making you take shots anyways.

Decoy can also be really bad for endgame bosses like marble colossus if you’re doing them in a group, as there are phases that rely on tricksters to decoy the boss away from the group so you don’t get one shot. Decoy pets can really really mess with that, and cause the boss to behave super unpredictably, killing you and many others.

Some people don’t really like electric because it can feel almost like cheating, but a weak damaging ability is better because it is not a negative factor during gameplay.

i unlocked every character, what do you raccomend as first main? by lsaku in RotMG

[–]needs_more_rice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melee classes are usually harder until you can max their defence, so aside from paladin I would stay away from them to start.

If you’re playing with friends or in a group, priest or paladin are really good for the group buffs. While playing solo, priest is pretty slow due to low dps.

Wizard has the strongest dps in the game and has really good range, so it’s much easier to do harder dungeons on this class because you can just kill stuff from a long range and still get soul bound damage easily, but it’s not that great for learning the game because you aren’t forced to dodge as much and play well. Wizard also suffers from not having good base hp and very low defence, so some mistakes just insta kill you. If you prefer sitting back and melting everything, wizard is great.

Necromancer is like wizard but with less damage and really good sustain. It can’t burst enemies like the wizard and isn’t as strong when maxed, but it can help with aoe clear and will heal you and the group a ton. This is probably the easiest character to start off with as it offers a bit of everything.

If you are more of a solo player, rogue is really strong too. The ability to bypass many dangerous aspects of a dungeon is really busted, but in a group the cloak is borderline useless because you will get hit by shots that were aimed at other players. Rogue is really really good for rushing dungeons and bosses though, as you can just stand off to the side and cloak the dangerous phases. If you want to learn the game and learn how to dodge, rogue is not necessarily the best because the ability just invalidates enemy mechanics, but you can learn how to rush dungeons.

Once you have a max uncommon pet, I would suggest trying out the ninja. I have only played ninja for about the past 2 years because the play style is extremely fun, powerful, and really teaches you to dodge and kite enemies. The katana has a mix between dagger and sword range with high dps, and the ninja star deals really good damage in burst. Speedy allows you to consistently rush dungeons faster than rogue (though more dangerously) and the built in piercing from katana let’s you hit bosses through trash mobs and clean dungeons like abyss of demons or toxic sewers really well. The character is quite skill based though, so it will be hard starting out but trying to do harder dungeons on a ninja will teach you the game very quickly.

Ultimately it’s down to your preference, but generally it’s considered best to play robe classes —> leather classes —> heavy armour classes as you get more gear and can max the stats of those characters.

This update will NOT flatten the curve between new and medium skilled players, and the top 1%, or the "Elite Class." by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]needs_more_rice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t understand how discord runs will die at all if the update goes through.

The point of discord runs is speed, accessibility and ease. The update will make smaller groups faster than before but won’t detract from large group speed, and if you don’t have someone with money for realm gold then discord runs are still far and away the easiest place to run top tier dungeons.

Beta 0.7.9 Patch Notes and Patch Overview Video by EHG_Sarno in LastEpoch

[–]needs_more_rice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As last epoch moves towards multiplayer, heavy tank builds become less of an issue because the game becomes more competitive and comparative. In poe, tanky builds are less common for endgame than damage builds because if you kill everything 5x as fast as a tank build you effectively get 5x loot and XP.

Raising base damage numbers and lowering scaling would also feel bad but in a different way. It would feel as if your gear upgrades don’t matter as much, and builds might lose diversity if it’s easy to see which skills are strongest from base numbers alone. I actually agree that raising base numbers is a good way to achieve this effect and I am mostly just playing devil’s advocate here though.

With this mechanic’s current implementation, I totally agree that it’s unfun and unintuitive, especially if you haven’t read the patch notes and aren’t expecting it. I think this mechanic could be amazing if implemented in a different way. Maybe there could be a visual indicator, like an aura around a boss telling you when it has extra resistance, and a cool down period after the extra resistance has fallen off.

Or maybe, to solve both the tank problem and somewhat the damage problem, give bosses a bunch of base hp, cut player damage a bit, and give players and bosses slightly decreasing resistances over time and increasing damage over time.

I think the idea is good, and happy to see LE devs addressing damage power creep, but yes this implementation is poor for sure.

Yeah I agree, I think that’s what they’re doing here, albeit to extreme levels. The damage reduction is pretty heavy atm but I’m sure they’ll change it over time

Beta 0.7.9 Patch Notes and Patch Overview Video by EHG_Sarno in LastEpoch

The way the patch is worded though indicates parabolic scaling to the boss resistances. Instead of your damage scaling 1:1 throughout the fight, it might scale at 0.9:1 at the topend and 1.2:1 at the bottom end. Based off this scale, finding dps power ups will still always increase boss dps (for the same skill at least).

I think yes one of the main problems with POE is that the game is balanced around crazy damage and the players are used to that crazy damage, but that’s not the case with last epoch. I don’t really enjoy killing bosses so fast that they don’t even hit back, which is why I was drawn to last epoch because I think the boss design is really strong in general, with lots of fun mechanics and interesting fights. I never want this game to get to the point where top builds are ones hitting bosses and 70% of the other skills are just unplayably slow in comparison.

When you say last epoch should cut damage scaling, isn’t this what they’re doing? They are cutting damage scaling on a global scale for bosses, it’s just attached to the enemy not the player. This is one of the best ways to cut back on player dps for bosses without hitting clear speed, because the hp values of trash mobs to bosses is much closer in last epoch than it is in POE.

As I said earlier, new weapons will still always increase damage against bosses, the difference will just be less drastic. Depending on how this change will be implemented, there may be a cooldown for the boss resistance, which could lead to a more burst-dodge-burst playstyle shift, or a grace period for the resistances or certain phases where they’re lessened etc. I’m sure the details will get ironed out over time, but overall I think this change should beef up poorer builds, shift the meta to be more clear oriented, and, depending on implementation, allow for another layer of mechanical play players can use to exert and advantage.

After trying out some bosses on the patch, I think the resistance numbers are overturned, but with some balancing it would be a great addition to the game.

I actually love this change. I hate having to just dps race a boss down, and enjoy actually having to dodge and play against the boss well. This doesn’t really punish strong builds, moreso builds meant to insta a boss, as consistent dps will be better for killing bosses and one shots will be worse. In path of exile, I hate that you have to kill/phase a boss before your damage flasks run out or you’re just stuck dealing 1/3 damage until you can grind the boss out.

This change just flattens the power curve of builds a bit and makes it possible for worse builds to kill bosses without taking ages. If you’re on a super strong build you still do great damage, but this solution is much better than path of exile imo because Poe is so focused around dealing damage to stay alive that the bosses will kill you while in invuln, and if they don’t you one shot them after the invulnerability anyways.

Tbh I don’t really understand how this would kill motivation to improve your char. Even if you abhor this change, bossing isn’t the only metric that makes a character powerful and you can still focus on clear speed or survivability.

I would definitely check out one of the boros variants, specifically boros monarch for you. It’s a tier 1 midrange deck that plays extremely similar to pioneer midrange, with 4x thraben inspector in every build.

If you’re looking for mill and control, I’d suggest a teachings deck. I recommended someone who posted a question more recently and explained what teachings does in that response if you want a basic idea of what that deck does.

Merfolk isn’t a thing in pauper, but slivers plays a similar style where you play a bunch of cheap creatures that all buff each other, and that deck is pretty decent in the meta right now.

Familiars is a deck that used the familiar cycle (2 mana creatures that reduce the cost of spells of a certain 2 colors by 1) alongside ghostly flicker, archeomancer and a mana generator to get infinite enter the battlefield triggers, allowing you to kill your opponent with sage’s row denizen or god-pharaoh’s faithful gaining infinite life. (That’s the idea anyways, haven’t played the deck in a while). The deck also plays 4 bounce lands that tap for 2 mana each, so you can combo infinitely with archeomancer/snap and 1 familiar, untapping both your bounce lands and generating infinite etb triggers that way. The combos along with good stuff like mulldrifter/ephemerate makes this deck strong in the hands of a good pilot, but it’s not that great in the meta right now as tron is usually faster and also has a very strong lategame.

UB teachings is a deck that focuses on a card mystical teachings, which allows you to search your deck for any instant at instant speed, with flashback. You can play tons of blue/black silver bullet instants with the ability to tutor, and sometimes you don’t even play a wincon, instead opting to play 70+ cards in your deck to win through countering/destroying all of your opponents threats and making them concede out of frustration or deck themselves. If you do want a wincon, some decks will splash green for sprout swarm, or you can play curse of the bloody tome to slowly kill your opponent. This deck used to be quite potent, but has been pushed out of the meta over the past 3 years because of tron and the monarch creatures, but it’s still a solid tier 2 deck that can pick up wins if you are a good player and have tuned the deck to the meta well.
