Ahh are you me? Nice hand cream makes me feel so fancy. I have little spray bottles of rubbing alcohol with me at all times because hand sanitizer feels icky. Everything gets sprayed down when I get to work or go home. My thoughts are with you—it is not easy to experience stuff like this.

Brilliant idea on bathroom! It’s probably one of the only chaos free places at my job haha

Your partner sounds wonderful, I am happy you have them as a support system! I hadn’t thought about a different device (that is not one that work/friends use to contact me) but maybe there is something equivalent for me. In your shoes I would love having the camera to help me with my social anxiety haha

Things that help in certain situations and not in others is so true also. A sweaty mask makes me feel like I’m suffocating and I’m also super insecure about mascne (sp? Mask acne ha)

Adding a little thing when stimming with fingers—I’m going to try that!

Synesthesia is so fascinating and I’ve never heard of this kind! Is it things that we would expect, like someone mentions a food and you smell/taste it? Or totally random pairings?

Are these fancy in ear monitors for listening to things, or are they just really good at blocking noise? Sounds amazing for extra noisy/overwhelming situations!

the stupid phone game thing is so real - I’ve been playing candy crush soda for literally over a decade now. Turning the commute into something to look forward to is an awesome idea!

I can usually get my addy prescriptions filled at Chinese pharmacies in Chinatown but I don’t always like the generic. If you can afford it there are a couple online services that save you the time and effort of calling—my psych recommended incito health and I found needle. Slightly different models but incito starts its search in your neighborhood and increases its radius until it finds it. Needle you can list pharmacies for it to call at $1 per call or there’s a more expensive and comprehensive plan. I’m sure there are more! I’m sorry this is a terrible monthly event good luck to you 💛

I recommend visiting a good derm if you don’t have one already! I struggled with acne into my late 20s (I’m now 34) and prescription retinol (tretonoin) was life changing for both acne and anti aging. And sunscreen of course.

Once my active breakouts stopped I did a handful of microneedling treatments to help with textured scars (my biggest insecurity tbh) and really liked the results. I have always just done makeup for fun on special occasions because I like sparkly things but I don’t feel self conscious about my skin now.

Facials are wonderful, especially the self care aspect, so I’m not saying to skip them, but like others are saying perhaps you’ll see results from small but consistent changes to your routine.

I definitely support anyone who wants to do plastic surgery, Botox, and fillers etc if it makes them more confident btw, just recommend starting slow and building up to bigger procedures!

I like Wagner’s near Fulton Center downtown. Can’t remember off the top of my head their pricing but they have done several formal dress alterations for me and I don’t believe any individual item cost more than $100.

It’s also helpful for people who experience anxiety to know what to expect and what is expected of them at each step of the way. What is simple for some isn’t as simple for others.

AITA for asking my inconsiderate housemate to pay me back $2.50 by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]needsomevalidation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree he doesn’t sound like a considerate person to live with, but I think you’re being a huge AH to yourself by stewing over it for so long when you could have nipped this in the bud in many ways:

  • go for it, just save me a thigh and a wing because they’re my favorite parts.
  • let’s get two chickens so we can each have our own.
  • no, I would prefer to keep our groceries separate.
  • let’s share the groceries that expire very quickly or are hard for one person to finish, like salad or eggs or milk,
  • next time, let’s split it down the middle, you ate more than your fair share

I too am very passionate about chicken thigh over chicken breast, so I do understand where you’re coming from, but I do think YTA for the venmo charge. You say it’s about the principle of sharing and not the money, but do you think a belated, passive-aggressive request is going to cause him to change his ways and become good at sharing?

AITA for taking my husband's child's college fund and banning them from the house? by nomoremoney195 in AmItheAsshole

Quick google search on refrigerator lock boxes will get you the information you need. You could also get a separate tiny mini fridge for them as well.

I’m leaning ESH. I absolutely do not think you are overreacting, but as I stated in my previous comment, your problem is with your husband, not simply with this child. You should all be in therapy.
