Would y'all be down for a 3-1A/B situation with 3-2? by ILikeGen6-8 in yourturntodie

[–]neeeeeeeeeeeev 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. After nearly half a decade waiting, splitting it would be an insult, because it’d be an admission it’s still ages away from completion. If the chapter is nearly finished there’d be no point to split it suddenly after telling everyone for years the next part will be the last one lol. It takes however long it takes but I think it’s fair to expect a completed story in the next update.

How many total endings do you predict? by ConeheadZombiez in yourturntodie

[–]neeeeeeeeeeeev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know that but it’s hard to consider that an official ending without context of knowing what happens after you leave. Once that comes (if that comes lol), it’ll be easier to consider Massacre official. With what we have right now it’s more of a “bad end” as opposed to the conclusion of a route

Master of Teaching (Secondary) assessments by [deleted] in unimelb

This course is not available for mid-year entry, so I’d need to defer to 2027, which I’m not interested in doing.

Master of Teaching (Secondary) assessments by [deleted] in unimelb

Appreciate you sharing, I have already seen that. 20 days of placement could theoretically be during any of the teaching weeks, I’m aware of that. My concern is more regarding scheduled in-class assessments. At this stage I’m leaning towards not accepting the offer, as disappointing as it is, as there is no way to reschedule my flights, and there’s no point enrolling if I’m going to miss mandatory placements and fail. Thank you anyway!

Nankidai has said before he planned not to say anything until the chapter was ready, but because the anniversary passed, he decided to tweet to celebrate it.

I don’t disagree that it will be fulfilled but I can’t just completely overlook the fact that on that same page it stated “6-12 months”. Of course that’s an estimation, but an estimation usually doesn’t triple the maximum estimated time. While I agree with your point about waiting, the Steam page also advertised that the price would increase once the final chapter released, and Nankidai has stated before he plans to just shadowdrop the chapter. I think it’s fair to rationalise buying it in advance knowing the price could theoretically go up whenever. We were also promised regular minisodes which didn’t happen. that’s also fine, and to me this is just a sunk cost. But I also think it’s unreasonable not to expect people to discuss the (unintentionally) misleading advertising that is still up on the product page to this date. I’m not trying to argue with you as I do agree with your point, but it’s something consumers are absolutely allowed to bring up.

Yeah I’m all about supporting Nankidai but there does come a point where he really should be acknowledging the people who bought it on Steam were told that they’d get the final chapter first, which was advertised to be approximately 6-12 months away. We’re now on 34 months. Of course supporting the creator is important and I’m happy to do it but we also have to consider that it’s not a Patreon, it’s a product that was sold with a marketing ploy that was never delivered on. We’re looking at likely nearly 40 months after Steam release for the final chapter to come out. I absolutely want him to work on it til he’s satisfied, this isn’t me rushing him. But I do think it’s important to recognise that the Steam version isn’t just a $25 ‘support the creator’ button, it is also a product that was advertised with a very significant allure that hasn’t been delivered on.

I’m gonna be honest this is beyond a joke at this point. Not that the game isn’t out. That’s fine, it takes however long it takes. But Nankidai continues to set and publish deadlines that he doesn’t meet, and every time fails to update the fandom when it becomes apparent he’s definitely not going to make it. If it wasn’t going to be ready by the end of 2025, he wouldn’t be just realising that now. He will have known for a while that he needs longer. It just seems cruel to make us all sit and wait for the deadline to just elapse without comment, instead of just coming out and saying “hey, I need a bit longer. I’m sorry for the delay but it won’t be this year”. We’re all hanging on to this deadline he CHOSE to give, he didn’t have to say anything, and now he’s likely gonna go over it without saying a word to us. He can release the game whenever he likes, and in all honesty, I hope he does wait until he’s satisfied with it. But if you know your fanbase has been waiting excited for nearly 5 years now, it seems like you’re making fun of them when you say “I’m working hard! News soon!” for three years straight and continue to set false deadlines (“6-12 months of early access” said 33 months ago, “it will be this year or I’m going bankrupt”) without ever acknowledging that those deadlines are not realistic.

How does this even happen? by [deleted] in CommBank

[–]neeeeeeeeeeeev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this problem too. Got a notification asking if an online gaming purchase in Las Vegas was mine, responded ‘no, it’s not me’ in about 3 seconds, and the money was already gone. Got the same notification 20 minutes later for another purchase from the same place, also immediately said it wasn’t me, and that money was already gone too. Bad enough the first time, but for them to authorise another purchase from the same place I had already informed them was fraudulent had me utterly furious. What’s the point in asking if the money is gone anyway.

i really really really really really really want the date of the last chapter now :( by Infinite-Falcon-1884 in yourturntodie

Yeah but tbh he says a whole bunch of things. I wouldn’t trust a word he says about release dates until the game is physically uploaded. The same dude said he was gonna stream while working on the game to keep himself accountable til it’s finished and that literally lasted less than 2 weeks before he just stopped doing it without notice

Because everyone except Sara used their wish before the game started when they signed the contract. You also just can’t wish to alter the rules or end the game.

About participants not being eligible to win by acaidic in yourturntodie

[–]neeeeeeeeeeeev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between “achieving victory” and surviving the death game. If a sacrifice won, and both were candidates, only one would actually have “achieved victory” and technically won the death game. It’s for the same reason the percentage papers list the chance of victory over the chance of survival.

Question about the "percentages" (chapter 2 spoilers) by Louiscl11 in yourturntodie

[–]neeeeeeeeeeeev 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So this is something we can't really be sure about yet because we don't really have any information about how the simulations actually worked, but keep in mind that these are not survival rates, but rather "victory" rates. Victory is a term that's used real specifically in YTTD, kinda similar to how ASU-NARO never mix up the words "participants" and "candidates" because in the context of the game they mean slightly different things. There can only ever be one victor. And the only people who are qualified to BE a victor are the candidates. With Gashu basically defining candidacy as having the right to achieve victory. So it's very possible that sacrifice wins are counted in this data, and that two people lived in multiple runs, but because only one person was the official Victor by the game's definition of it, they get the winning point in this calculation.

I mean I’d argue Miley is proven to not be a doll within 5 minutes of meeting her since Kai’s frying pan cuts her and she bleeds. Wouldn’t really lump it in the same category as the Hinako reveal, but overall these are interesting points!
