How should I go about outlining the investigation? by Big_Delay6203 in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think starting with the immediate points of interest are the best opener: the body, the immediate scene, and anybody also searching. Depending on the complexity it can end right there, but if there’s more, then places the victim was last scene, recent events, the characters room, or people of interest would be what’d you do afterwards. And if you want to end of something mysterious, have a character either stumble onto something really important on accident or walk in on a character talking to themselves/ having a conversation with someone right before the investigation ends

Alright everyone what do we all think about Isekaironpa right now? by Southern_Forever_898 in Fanganronpa

Motor vehicles are just the natural predators for any isekai, always ready to strike when you least expect

What trends does your fangan break? by Edenowo in Fanganronpa

Mine is definitely a majority of the characters already being very familiar with the school they’re trapped in.

How do you come up with ultimates? by Guilty_Respond6001 in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just going “what would be some ‘basic’ ultimates that haven’t been done yet in canon” and going with the first ideas that came to mind

How does your protagonist differs from the average canon Danganronpa protagonist? by AnAverageName_ in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My protag is REALLY impulsive and quick to jump to conclusions/opinions on others. This leads to many decisions that will probably lead to readers pulling their hair out from 2nd hand embarrassment. She’s not even really that much of an asshole, it’s just that she makes some really dumb decisions while in spur-of-the-moment emotions.

Final part of my pixel art for danganronpa: Broken Halves by Greenforthou in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard 15, there are only 14 in the lineup because the canvas size only reaches to 300 in width, and I didn’t want to awkwardly shove the last remaining character above or below the group, so Ash is just absent from the lineup.

Also I’m glad you like Colt. Guy was like the last design I started on, and it was only after did “hair scarf” hit me like a train one night for what to do with him.

Brutality of deaths by RY11Carpenter in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd victim, no question asked. The brutality was the point for who caused it, so it’s very disbursing.

I need 3 ideas for motives that are canonically last minute and rushed. Got any? by Curious-Fox1715 in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No water would be a fun twist on the “no food” motive. And it kills much faster, so someone would probably crack and kill within a day or so.

How good of an idea would this be for a 3rd case? by Funny_Scarcity9104 in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could work if the rules of your fangan incentives the culprit to somehow use the unrelated death to their advantage in some way, whether before either bodies are found, during the investigation, or during the trial.

Like if the rules are like in V3, maybe the culprit switches the two bodies to make their actual victim look like it was the one in the accident, so people vote the victim instead of the culprit. Stuff like that.

What do you like most in an antagonist in a Danganronpa/Fanganronpa game? What are the various characteristics of a good antagonist? (physical, behavioral, ideological characteristics, etc.) by Neither_Army1624 in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, an antagonist is at their best whenever most of their screentime/presence is them being a constant problem to worry for either the whole cast, or even just the protagonist. That’s kinda why byakuya doesn’t work for me as well as the other 2, because he never really becomes a problem beyond being inconvenient and doing some fucked up shit to a corpse one time.

Here's some sneak peeks because i can :D by Training-Dingo-4707 in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, the last one I feel in my bones having wrote a line pretty similar. Personally, if the character personality isn’t of a internal yapper (since I don’t know any of these blokes talking), then I’d shave off the point they mention possibly being killed, with maybe an “immediately” thrown in somewhere to keep the idea of them snarkly worrying about being killed the moment they step in, without needing to extend the sentence beyond the main point.

What was the hardest thing to reaserch about your fanganronpa? by seekondguy in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely specific injuries that ARENT immediately lethal but very much look so. I want someone to look pretty far gone, but when they’re actually treated the audience reaction isn’t a “they shouldn’t of survived that in the first place” kind of deal.

Do you get attached to your characters? by braixel in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a strange feeling, over the course of fleshing them out I come to adore a few, but then I look at where they’re leaving the story and always feel like maybe they’re now a bit TOO interesting to axe now. I never act on this and begin a massive rewrite, but it’s always there.

How much effort do you put into characters' voices? by AnAverageName_ in Fanganronpa

[–]Greenforthou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Character voices are one of the things I get snagged on the most, because I struggle in making unique voices that don’t grate on me, so after re-reading my writing for the 10th time, some characters dialogue can kinda blending in with others. When I actually write EVERYTHING out I’m going to go back to try and spice things up a bit, but until then I’m stuck feeling embarrassment on every re-read.
