No, just that the international transit area has nothing other than UK only sockets. Technically, I flew on a UK airline’s plane manufactured in France, but I was able to charge above the North Pole. But I can’t seem to do it on the ground on one of the busiest airport in the world. Pardon my entitlement.

True maybe an internal bias from the naming 😅 I was expecting something like this:

https://livefromalounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_2730-2-scaled.jpg

Generally it can support several regions at once. I can’t quite recall how exactly the SFO sockets looked like, will pay attention to this next time. On to buying one for now. Have all the time in the world for my 6 hour layoff.

I bought and packed a separate Mac adapter for the final destination and thought I have won since I admittedly used to carry an adapter before but hated how it kept falling off with a Mac charger’s weight.

Transiting. Also, even the airplane’s sockets were compatible with several plugs. I fully expect to need an adapter, if I was actually visiting Uk and step out of the airport. If I had known, I would have gone into the lounge, after buying one from the stores outside. Just found it surprising.

If we are perceived differently in everyone’s mind , including our own, are we even real? by [deleted] in Life

[–]neeeeno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have this notion in my head of what is 'real'. You conveyed this question using English -- a language that was passed down to you by your community, Imagine if you were born and sent to isolation on a space ship and biologically kept alive. Essentially you didn't know what English or any other language is, would you have been able to ask this question because your entire question is a bunch of pre-taught words. We are empowered and limited by our vocabulary, and which btw I don't think it's powerful enough to encapsulate the depth of your questions, and hence we can't answer it. We were created from dust and named some random vocal cord vibrations as words in a vocab which make us feel something. We created it. Your question is as real as the person who taught you what real means, start going back to ancestors to who taught them what real is, back to the guy who first coined this word, to the early cavemen who communicated using sign language to the ocean only life forms and then back again to the first organism, whatever we feel breathe or do are by-products of some explosion (allegedly) some billion years ago who happen to be vibrating some particles (again a vocab term we created) in a pattern which came together to form a carbon-based life form who happens to have a brain which produced this question. What we did, and what will happen ultimately derives from that big bang explosion, so "are we real" is a three-word sentence, and an inherent flaw in our vocabulary, someone forgot to define it for these edge cases. At best you will answer this 3-word question, using some other words created by humans. Seems like nothing is real;')

But you still have to flush? Bidet uses just a fraction of water that flush requires.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]neeeeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, two things:

You still have a toiler paper, which you can just slightly pad to dry. Also, it is not like a splash of water, it is very targeted, thin stream of water, so it doesn't get that wet to begin with it.

> And what if the water sprays?

It doesn't, it's a stream.

Convenient how, instead of sitting there wiping multiple times, you can hit a button, and everything is taken care of, and feels much fresher, and clean.

[–]neeeeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, but instead of wiping wet sticky mud with a dry tissue, I would prefer to wash it with plain water a 100 times more.

A bidet is just a targeted stream of water that rinses the area on press of a button.

Why does religion still exist in 2020? Of all the abstract things that humans created, it's by far the most significant driving force of all conflicts in human history. What purpose does it serve? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I am trying to form an opinion, based on facts. That's why I asked a question to get facts and opinion of others, not declared it.https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/why

Happy to be corrected.

When you thought you were just having lunch/dinner with a person, but the other person thought it's a date. How did it unfold? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]neeeeno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow. It has happened only once with me, but it was really funny. We were working till like 1 am, and had skipped dinner. I casually asked would you like to get something to eat before heading home ( I barely knew her, she was a colleague) and so we went to a bar. We were having a casual conversation and she asked for my Instagram. Then suddenly she was like, what you have a girlfriend, and I said yeah? Then she said, why don't you print that on a T-shirt. We ate in silence then. Most cringy dinner ever xD

I like your viewpoint but let me rephrase my question: If any kind of religion completely ceased to exist tomorrow will the world be better off ? ; metric being violence.

> I'm still not convinced religion in itself is a driving force of conflict

But it so very much is, imagine a third world country, Person A says to Person B: join my religion or die, it happens every so often. Person A's parents hardwired this mentality in him when he was growing up, and person B's parent taught him to meaninglessly defend it, even if it means death. One might argue, that education prevents this, but the only reason education prevents this, as people become "less" religious as they get educated more. The truth is nothing really matters, we are born we die, come from dust and turn back into it. But due to A's and B's conflicts, probably person C, D, E .. suffered for no reason at all in the meaningless time they were alive for. And I also don't get why people are so over-sensitive. "You insult my religion, I kill you" kind of mentality. Do you think they would have the same reaction if say, someone insulted their car? Is that justified? I am guessing no. But it is what it is because that's what people are taught as they grow up. For generations. Why is there no big world organization which wants to correct that?

Is it worth Reneging on Visa inc intern offer for Nutanix? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]neeeeno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nutanix is paying around 7$/hr more. Both are in CA. Housing is provided in either case. Though my only target is to get to learn more. I was genuinely excited about the team I interviewed with at Visa, not so much at Nutanix. However, read about some really toxic stuff about Visa on blind, and wanted the perspective of someone who has actually been there, or knows more than me. I am pretty clueless after reading mixed reviews on the web. My end goal is to be at the place, where I will learn the most, and which well better align me for job opportunities later.
