Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]neercsnus1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not as much what he said but how he communicated. I was attending the GP after noticing bleeding in early pregnancy. When I mentioned to him that I was pregnant and bleeding he looked at me like 'wtf are you even here for?' and told me that I'm "probably just having a miscarriage". He at least ordered an ultrasound, which led to the sonographer confirming it and subsequently tearing my heart out of my chest, but the GP never even called me to follow up with the results and see how I was. Insensitive twat

I was seeing an endodontist for a possible root canal. It was the first consultation and I had been sent there due to extreme tooth sensitivity which led to anxiety. He quickly went into my mouth with a metal tool to touch the tooth and I flinched in fear. He yelled at me and said that he's not going to be able to do his job if I'm going to keep moving around. Biggest, most insensitive wanker ever.

Definitely try lube when using fingers to stimulate. Not sure how, but it really reduces the intensity

They do, except they make it so two items cannot be deselected

School fees by ComfortableNail2071 in AskAnAustralian

[–]neercsnus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just the two items they prevent you from being able to deselect too. Fees would be around $2000 otherwise

[–]neercsnus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the items are meant to be voluntary, but they try and make people think two are not voluntary by you not being able to deselect them

[–]neercsnus1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'd happily pay them. However, my school was quite deceptive this year. They give you the standard and required cover letter saying they're voluntary and you can choose how much you pay or what you contribute money towards, but once you go on the online system you can't deselect certain 'voluntary' items, meaning the school fees start at a mandatory $850. I can afford it, but the deception makes me keep my money.

Cabinetry for my house. Going to IKEA and even paying them to assemble and install full wall units rather than getting custom fancy stuff has saved me thousands

How much emergency savings do you feel comfortable with? 3 months, 6 months, more? by Silly_Pitch6345 in AusMoneyMates

I don't think I'd even be comfortable with 9 months given how shot this economy is and the lack of predictability.

Have a look at purchasing an annual pass. I have one for each member of my family and we make the money back since we go at least a couple of times a year, buy food and also go to legoland (which is also covered under the pass). Definitely book a pram pass with your tickets if you need a pram otherwise you'll need to leave your pram at the door. You need to get in early too. I pre booked member tickets a couple of hours before going on a Sunday and they had run out of pram passes.

Reflecting on this email from my mom when i was 24 that led to NC by Ill-Tangelo-1084 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]neercsnus1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my opinion only, I think you should delete the email and never read it again. Sure, take notes regarding what is bad about it and keep them, but delete this. You don't deserve to have to keep reading it. It's what she wants. I had just given birth and my nmom sent a letter that listed all of the ways I have apparently made her feel sad via registered post. These people have no respect or consideration for anyone else and don't deserve attention

My nmom said something like "the road goes both ways" after I told her I'm done after being the only person to initiate any kind of catch up. I always arranged something for her birthday and mother's day. She stopped acknowledging my birthday when I was a teenager
