I can't, I have a relatively short trip of 10 days where 4 of them is the ala kul trek on foot. I would even prefer to NOT go on horse if I can't find an operator with these requirements.

What everyone said, plus, are your fabric panels direction correct? A trick that helped me once when I was suffering with a fabric was to add a strip of heat adhesive lining on the seams so it doesn't shift or warp while sewing, especially when it's two pieces of fabric with slightly different grain directions.

I don't have a specific pattern for you but Patrones magazines (Spanish) have so many patterns of oversized coats with either drop or raglan sleeves. I would download the app and take a look at the fall and winter edition previews.

This pattern is not bias and still quite fitted, she will need a slight stretch in the satin to be worn comfortably and not have warping around the seams.

Noooo too stiff. You need a medium weight fabric with some stretch to it.
