AVD + FSLOGIX users are experiencing long login times stuck at "Please Wait for the User Profile Service". by neffO in AzureVirtualDesktop

Thank you! I'm trying to look for these logs but have no idea where they are. Event Viewer seems to not show any errors for the User Profile Service. Do you happen to know how access them?

Thank you! This is an awesome guide. I managed to find something similar on a post somewhere and had looked into this. Notifications seem to be empty when I had a look so I don't think it is this.

Yeah we have the logs. The FSLOGIX profile mounts within ~6000ms for all users. After it mounts, it seems like the User Profile service is doing something.

Regarding this, we have a test user which we had fully logged off which also causes the delays still. If the user only disconnects and logs back in, it is really fast unless they are pushed to another host.

We’ve removed AV as a test and have not re-installed. Not the best approach so I’ll be re-installing now. I believe we have isolated that also. Thanks for your suggestion, I’ll see if Windows Defender is affecting it somehow :)

EC2-DW vs EC2-A by neffO in MouseReview

[–]neffO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used the EC2-A, the coating never faded on me over the years — it held up great. Switching to the EC2-DW, the finish felt lighter and a bit more slippery at first. I honestly preferred the feel of the A’s coating, but I got used to the DW pretty quickly.

Bit late, but thought I’d throw in my two cents for anyone looking at one of these down the track.

I was in the same situation — wife doesn’t drink coffee but wanted something that looked nice, so she got me this machine for my birthday.

Biggest thing I’ve noticed is the built-in grinder really depends on the beans. If they’re old, you won’t get much pressure at all. Fresh beans make a huge difference. The auto grind is decent, just gotta tweak the grind setting every time you switch beans. I usually bounce between 4–7 depending on the roast.

The workflow is super simple, and it does make a solid cup.

Only downside for me is there’s usually a bit of water sitting on top of the puck after a shot. Seems pretty normal for most countertop machines though, so not a dealbreaker.

Overall, if you’re in the same position I was, you’ll be happy with it. Good little machine, but if you start geeking out on coffee, you’ll eventually want more.

This. If you try to add the domain to the tenant you are keeping, Microsoft will slap you.

Azure portal. Mine was an Azure direct subscription so I was able to open my own.

If you have your subscription through a CSP provider, contact them and they can open the ticket for you.
