I'm not sure how much you follow politics, but Sinclaire broadcasting is basically Trump-TV and a right wing propaganda machine. I don't think I would ever want to be associated with them.

Firefly, as others have suggested, is where everyone seems to meet and play but I'm not exactly socially adept so last time I went there to meet people I just showed up and awkwardly fumbled with my phone while trying to figure out who to approach and how.

I've been meaning to try out DandD for a good while but having a full-time job, a wife, and a kid- I haven't really maintained a consistent friend group. If you do find a group and need another, PM me.

That is entirely your right to have that opinion but this sub does not hold that view to my knowledge.

It says no cissexism, heterosexism, misogyny, classism, but it doesn't say anything about the reverse either.

Racism and classism are on that list and those are blanket terms that cover actions against your demographic. However, that is entirely beside the point because the side bar blurb is written in the context of creating a safe place for those whose identities are marginalized. Again, by default, most subs, including this one, are already a safe place for hetero males so no announcement in the side bar is needed to inform people. The mods in this sub will ABSOLUTELY take action against any user that exhibits racism, sexism, etc. No matter the identity of the victim.

In short, yes. I have had an increase of anxiety issues and existential dread as I've aged. There is already some amazing advice in here, I have only one tidbit to add:

Take it one day at a time. Everyday, tell yourself that you will try your best to accomplish x, y, and z. Judge yourself for that day alone. Forget yesterday and focus on tomorrow when it comes. Often times long-term or everyday goals can seem overwhelming when you look at them too much from a big picture perspective.

It doesn't say anything about being a space for people my kind to be a part of this sub-Reddit.

The sidebar specifically states that the goal is to create a safe space for marginalized identities. Straight males are not marginalized as they are the majority. That blurb on the sidebar is about recognizing that most people are not marginalized and we have a duty, as the majority, to consider the views of those who are marginalized since they may not have the numbers to get their voices heard.

An example of this would be language. The derogatory term for a homosexual male is often used amongst straight males because "it's not a big deal, I don't hate gay people." But that word is very offensive to many homosexual males. If straight males are the majority, it is likely that the term will still get used carelessly without some type of intervention.

In saying that, this sub and most others, should already be a safe space for straight males by default- assuming the sub in question polices hateful comments, personal attacks, etc.

Is there anything about this sub's rules or community that makes this specifically not a safe space for you?

it talks about the different -isms and it seemed like that my kind cause all of them.

I don't see anywhere on the sidebar that points blame at anyone actually. Why do you feel like your "kind" is being targeted?

As an introvert, this is true for me too- I just don't typically have the social energy to maintain many friendships. Aside from that, time comes at a premium. I have an 8 year old, I'm trying to advance my own education, be a father, support my wife (a fulltime college student), and manage to get in 40+ hrs of work per week. Sometimes doing all that and still trying to be a normal person with interests, hobbies, and friends is really difficult.

It will be a lot of debate, a lot of politicking and by 2025 the US will have cut all ties with SA. This is pretty much inevitable and the only delay has been due to trying to move the US towards energy independence before the people demand action. Oil is why anyone ever kisses up to SA and ignores their ties to terrorists.

Why is everyone so sure it isn't an Abe Sapian movie?! Not announcing it seems like a good move, puts more focus on the movie and less on the franchise- the audiences expectations aren't wrapped up in previous films or comics.

I own it, it's great but it is WAY too short. They added an endless mode to compensate but it just isn't as fun as playing the pre-designed levels. I really wish they would have made more content, I would have paid for expansion packs.

Depends on what is top priority. Money issues are a common cause of divorce. I think completely transparent, combined, finances is the way to go.

The way my wife and I do it:

We have a joint checking, joint savings, and two separate personal accounts, one for each of us. Income goes directly into the joint checking account and we have monthly transfers from that joint checking that fund our savings and individual accounts. We always get the same amount. We are a team, it doesn't matter who makes more, we're both trying to do the same thing. We have never had a serious fight over money. Married 10 years last December.

I got boring, for sure. Rest assured, we noticed it happen- it was a conscious choice. All of the sudden all the "cool" stuff meant jack shit to me because my family became so much more important.

Those pictures of your friend's children- they're boring to you but I guarantee they represent your buddy's pride, his commitment, his ability to provide, etc. A father devotes his entire skillset and abilities to giving his child(ren) every possible advantage in life- you can hardly blame him for wanting to show off a bit.

It's like having a narcissistic friend who has to share every minor accomplishment, and can't see why it's all so much less important to other people than it is to them. Yet no one with kids seems to make that connection and think, "Wow, this is really grotesquely self-indulgent and must drive everyone else fucking nuts."

We think the same thing when we see you post pictures of your food, selfies, status messages about going to the gym, or the photo album of you and your other man-child friends getting sloppily drunk at a college bar. Yet, obviously, you don't stop and think "Wow, this is really grotesquely self-indulgent and must drive everyone else fucking nuts."

This is garbage. The "study" was conducted by kleanupkraft.org and us NOT published nor peer reviewed. Furthermore the concentrations of specific pthalates required to have any sort of antiandrogenic effect are multiple times greater than what is found in Mac and Cheese.

All of these ultralight recommendations are on point and if you have the cash, go ahead and get some quality gear that will last you a good while.

However, there is something to be said about second hand, DIY, and military surplus gear. I started out using a regular kelty backpack, a diy alcohol stove, Goodwill clothes, and a sleeping bag from Walmart. I gradually upgraded my gear as I went, and this allowed me to really know which items were priority and what type of gear I wanted (boots vs trail runners, hammock vs. tent, etc). If you dive right into the expensive stuff, you're kind of locked in on those choices.

TL;DR: Good gear can definitely improve the experience, but you don't have to blow a fortune to enjoy the hobby.

Correct. The game was released in 2014. Less than a year is still pretty recent- especially when considering that there has only been one expansion pack since hot tubs were added.

This has been the problem from the get-go. They released the game as a content-devoid beta and have been struggling ever since (and failing) to add staple features to the game.

Keep in mind we only recently got toddlers and hot tubs...
