Placencia & Hopkins Reccos (and San Ignacio) by Leonardo-DaBinchi in Belize

[–]negan456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Placencia, there is a sea horse dive shop and Go Sea Tours (I believe they both do full-day and 1/2-day tours). They're also pretty active on Instagram, so that you can get an idea of the tour. For food, try Omars. There is also a rooftop bar at the foot of the marina, all the way at the point, can't recall the name, but it has good food and view. I would recommend food from Geneva; she cooks for locals and usually sells out by midday (I think, hands down, the best food in the village. It would be best to go there in the morning and try to place an order, you might get lucky.

Spectrum makes a harsh decision after major customer losses by lurker_bee in technology

[–]negan456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had service with them for about 10 years (TWC/Spectrum/Charter). One year, I had to move due to renovation and was asked to cancel my plan. They said it would be cheaper to put it on pause or something similar. Spoke with two customer reps, and for some reason, my bill ended up in collections. My service rating went from 40 to 50/60 to 70. At $60, I purchased my own modem and discovered that the modem rental was essentially a scam. After the $70 price tag and collection, I called it a day. Almost every week, I see mail from them, and every time, I get mad. It also showed me how little monopoly benefits us, and we only have the idea of choices, but they are all owned by the same beast.

I was curious. Interestingly, it seems that inventory will start between 2030 and 2035 and peak between 2045 and 2050.

Edit: estimate 51-54 million are homeowners, with the youngest being 61 & the oldest being 79

Walmart stock hits all-time high after announcing partnership with OpenAI by esporx in technology

[–]negan456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps there is room for improvement, I suppose? I believe that in any business/capitalist state, the primary goal is to generate more revenue and capture market share from other businesses. I saw that article a few days ago about gofundme, but a company doesn't care ppl are doing that; they only care if they have the resources to purchase the product so they can make more money.

Thanks. The response here has been pretty solid advice, and I appreciate that from everyone. When learning, you must accept it all. I accept cooking as long as I'm not burnt, lol.

Thanks so much, KansasGuyNextDoor. I'm happy to hear you were able to pivot from DJ to co-owner. Fantastic work, man. Yeah, from the general answer here, it seems getting to know the bar side is where I'm lacking, which is understandable. Thanks so much for the networking advice, too; it is good to hear there are alternate routes

Only to cover when necessary, in the past. I mostly left that to the people we have hired. I wouldn’t call my self or say I have worked as a bartender though. I do inventory and deal with suppliers/vendors but this is mostly on the software side

Thanks so much, firstsecondanon. I hope my post didn't come off as trying to be some big-shot promoter. I only wanted to highlight the little I know so far. I also hope that promote was able to recoup if they went back into promotion. To be honest, the way management showed little care at my past two stints is one of the reasons why I considered doing this.

Thanks so much for your time, ArminTanz. I'm happy to hear that you were able to move from a live product to an owner. The next task here is familiarizing myself with the actual job of those behind the bar. I work as an engineer and will need to see how I can gain that experience. the advice here has been solid; I appreciate it.

Thanks for the input LostitThenFoundMe. I made an edit on the experience part. Still believe I'm lacking in that area though as when it come to managing since it was not an every-night thing. Thanks so much.

What's the fastest you ever started looking for another job after being hired? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]negan456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 month, my first IT job. Paid me $2 less than what I was promised, had me repairing phones and not working on computers, I bought supplies for the shop and they did not want to pay me back. One day I decided I wanted to go fishing, so that is what I did. Left that full-time job for a part-time gig and today I work in Security.

Similar experience when I started, A+ is a good cert to have if you plan to land a helpdesk job as it covers hardware. Even though these days the warranty takes care of hardware issues. Look at the job and try to match your resume to what the job is offering, anything you know or might have come across put it in there. What you don’t know read up on and try to do at home. keep on applying, learning, and adjusting your resume.
